Michael has written an excellent book for people who want to understand gold, its importance as an investment vehicle and how to invest. The book does a good job at convincing you so dont get carried away and start buying gold. Like any other investment gold has its pros and cons. Do more research and reading before you spend your hard earned money. Look at some websites like kitco and gold-eagle.

I expected much more information and details about gold investment. The basic idea that author annoyingly repeats throughout whole book is the gold is good for investing and all other kind of investment are bad

I would recommend this book to investors who know beforehand the pros and cons of gold investments and still wish to proceed. The information in the book is interesting and would be helpful to future "goldbugs" but I felt that the book was overly biased. In my opinion, the book overemphasized to good points of gold investments. While an excellent hedge, gold is in reality a poor and very conservative investment choice and deserves only a small portfolio allocation. In addition to this book, I would definitely recommend additional research.

This book provides the basics on how to invest in gold. In a pragmatic way it explains the vocabulay and the pros and cons of gold investment. What I found most useful was the fact that it detailed how the market affects gold prices and dispels some of the common myths of adding gold to your portfolio. I highly recommend this book for all who are interested in gold investing.

As a man of only thirty-nine years, ABC's has given me enlightenment not obtainable in the public schools, or in the mainstream press. Since the elimination of gold as "lawful money" occurred before my lifetime, I would have been otherwise unaware of how it's removal from our monetary system has eroded the wealth of the common man, and disempowered every U.S. citizen. Good reading for anyone concerned that the "Asian Contagion" could eventually wash ashore here. You will never view the green paper in your pocket in the same light.

This book was a fun, easy read. The author gives you a basic history about gold, the changing political and monetary climate concerning it, how gold was viewed before by people and governments around the world as compared to now, why you should view gold not just as an investment but, more importantly, as a kind of insurance policy. I've read it twice now, and more of it sank in the second time around so that it makes more sense to me now.

I found this book to be very informative. I have never invested in precious metals before, and needed to be educated on the subject. The ABC's covered everything I needed to know before I make my first investment into the gold market. It is well written and easy to comprehend. I would highly recommend this book to every first time investor.

I was looking for a good resource for investing in Gold. I found it in this book. The author did an excellent job in laying out the argument for investing in Gold. He uses his vast experience as well as history to show us why Gold will always be the ultimate hedge against the financial storms. I highly recommend it to all, especially skeptics!
