ABC's of Lighthearted Living can't quite decide what it is meant to be. Presented in a lighthearted, almost children's book format, this book is a basic primer of healthy, positive behaviors that lead to good mental health. Author Margaret Mears, M.D. has been an advocate of creative writing workshops as a way to help in the stresses of illness. Throughout her years of private practice in Internal medicine, Mears has collected stories of behaviors and choices that can aid in creating a healthier life. Each principle is accompanied by quoted and an anectadote that illustrates the principle ( Attitude, Balance, Creativity, dare to Dream and so on). This is a very comprehensive aid to better mental health. It's deceptively simple format makes it easy to read in bits and pieces. If it was packaged in a more professional way, it would attract more of an audience.

Try stirring a few of these wonderful "Letters" into your everday "Soup". Dr. Mears has shown that healthy thinking is the path for healthy living. She surely must have carried a tiny tape recorder around for her entire life.Never mind, experiences like this are life changing and one would never forget a single detail. Why can't we all just practice our A-B-C-'s on an everyday basis? Dr. Mears will shed a whole new light on learning your A-B-C's, I promise.. Enjoy and Bon Appetite !!

This book packs a wallop of fun along with a fresh way to view life! Dr. Mears has an uplifting and inspiring message. Each letter of the alphabet has it's own "gift" for readers that can help heal their spirit, mind and body. The artwork throughout this gem of a book is playful and delights the soul. It's obvious that Dr. Mears is a rare breed: a physician with a big heart and tons of practical--and healing--wisdom!
