ABC's for your favorite oceanographer!,

As an instructor of introductory oceanography, and a collector of children's ABC books, I whole heartedly endorse Asimov's ABC's of the Ocean. The terms used are (mostly) terms that are relevant to oceanography. However, there are two things to consider. First, this is an older book, and does appear dated in layout. Secondly, it is not a book from which a child should initially learn their alphabet. Rather, it is an introduction to the science of the sea for young readers, a fantastic gift for an aspiring marine scientist or a unique addition to someone's Asimov collection. |
