Better off with a good textbook,
By A Customer
This review is from: The ABCs of Safe Flying (Paperback)
I am not a new pilot, but I'm always on the lookout for a new explanation of the fundamentals. Although this is probably a good read as a supplement for a student pilot, I didn't find it telling me anything new. I also found that the author at times went off on tangents with personal stories that didn't relate to the subject at hand. For my review of the fundamentals I think I'd be better off with a re-read of my Jeppesen textbook.

A solid nuts n' bolts approach,

Frazier writes a no-nonsense, need-to-know approach to aviation fundamentals, perfect for student pilots who want a more concise, no-frills explanation to learning flight manuevers. So clear and logical are his explanations, I sometimes think a novice can learn to fly just from reading this book! At the very least, The ABC's of Safe Flying will pay for itself by reducing the need for dual instruction ($$$) many times over.

If flying is your passion you'll enjoy this read. Clearly written and logically presented, this author takes pilots through a detailed, often humorous course in the essentials of safe flying, and covers everything from mastering maneuvers and GPS Navigaition to preflight checks. A must read especially for the nubies.
