I bought this book, hoping to get some good ideas to help my 4 and 2 year old boys be successful in school. As a high school teacher myself, I know how important it is for children to be learners and do well in their classes. This book was a great resource. The author acknowledges that a lot of her concepts will be common sense to those raised with a love of learning (as did I), but I still found a plethora of ideas. Although the author has experience as an elementary principal, she writes in a very down-to-earth and conversational tone.The book contains chapters on different age groups such as babies, toddlers, and preschoolers and gives great ideas on how to instill a love of learning into each age group. She has ideas on activities, great books, outings, and more. Although some things may indeed seem like common sense, I feel anyone can benefit from this great little book. |
