Beautiful pictures!
I've lived in Wisconsin all my life and believe Ms. Relyea did a beautiful job portraying our state! My children really enjoyed this book, especially the wonderful detail of each picture. This is a great book for children who live in Wisconsin or want to know a little more about it!

The facts are in the back of the book!
If you are looking for serious facts about Wisconsin, don't buy this book. Although the illustrations may be whimsical, most of the facts could pertain to any state--there's poison ivy in North Carolina too. All of the factual information is contained on two text-only pages at the back of the book, and children are not going to sit still while Mom reads these facts to...

Amazing illustrations...great whimsy...interesting facts. And, I even learned a little about Wisconsin that I didn't know about! Of all our ABC books, our kids select this one first to read.

Not only did my kids enjoy this book, so did I! The illustrations are whimsical and charming - a very fun read. Alison Relyea is truly one of Wisconsin's finest artists and this book is a great showcase of her talent.
