DIANA RIGG, CO-SIGNED BY KEITH MICHELL Signed b/w publicity photo of Rigg and Mitchell from a production of Abelard and Heloise, signed by Rigg and Michell Photograph signed "Diana Rigg" and "Keith Michell". With pencil notations on verso in unknown hand. B/w, 7 ¾ x 10. According to the notations on this photo, this is from a May 1970 production of Abelard and Heloise at the Wyndham Theatre, with Rigg and Michell in the title roles. This play includes a brief nude scene that stirred up a bit of controversy when it was first produced. RIGG, born Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg in Doncaster, Yorkshire, England in 1938, is an English actress with over 50 TV shows and movies to her credit as well as three Broadway productions, but is best known for her role as Mrs. Emma Peel on the TV series The Avengers (1965-1968). Rigg joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1959. In addition to her distinguished stage work, she also appeared in made for television films and specials and in feature films, including On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). MICHELL, born in Adelaide, South Australia, Australi ain 1928, is an Emmy Award-winning Australian actor with almost 40 TV shows and movies to his credit, as well as five Broadway plays and musicals. Michell was an art teacher before debuting on stage in 1947. His best known film appearance is probably in the 1961 swashbuckler The Hellfire Club. Mitchell won an Emmy for his virtuoso performance as Henry VIII in The Six Wives of Henry VIII (1970). Murder She Wrote fans may recognize him from his recurring role as amateur detective Dennis Stanton. Lightly toned, creased and bowed. Signature is faint but visible. Corners are scuffed and ragged.
