5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up
We first saw this tent on our vacation. I watched a dad set it up in seconds. It was a windy day and it didnt budge. Mom & baby were cozy inside.I thought it would be great for our next vacation bc I will have a 3 year old and infant. It is nice if you want to keep out of the sun, changer diapers & nurse your baby.

1.0 out of 5 stars Abo Gear Instent Review
I purchased the Abo Gear Instent as a beach shelter for our infant daughter. Its first use at the beach in cool spring weather went well. The Instent was fast to set up and take down. Our baby enjoyed exploring the tent and soon fell asleep. Not much room though for adults to sit comfortably and the ceiling height prevents use of chairs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Abo Gear Instent Review, August 10, 2007

I purchased the Abo Gear Instent as a beach shelter for our infant daughter. Its first use at the beach in cool spring weather went well. The Instent was fast to set up and take down. Our baby enjoyed exploring the tent and soon fell asleep. Not much room though for adults to sit comfortably and the ceiling height prevents use of chairs.

Our second experience with the Instent was very different. At the beach on a sunny day in June, the Instent got very hot inside despite a normal ocean breeze and the windows open. Baby was sweating and crying so we took her out. During this time, one of the corner poles kept collapsing and I had to push it back into its socket. None of the other shelters on the beach seemed to be having problems. On take down, one of the plastic poles (maybe the same one) broke from its socket and tore into the fabric of the tent, rendering our Instent useless.

I contacted Abo Gear, and despite a quick response and a promise of, "We'll take care of the problem", I have not received a replacement or a status in sixty days. I contacted Abo Gear again and they responded with questions about the weather on the day it broke. It seems Abo Gear is looking for a way out of honoring their warranty.

On a recent Instent-less trip to the beach, a friend purchased a Lil' Nursery tent for us. It is smaller, cheaper and better ventilated than the Instent and worked fine on the beach in the July sun, though it does require a few minutes to set up. I wish I had bought this first and saved eighty bucks on the Instent. Since Abo Gear customer service never came through for me, I don't know whether I had a lemon Instent or whether there are major quality problems with this product. Based on my experience with Abo Gear and the tent's performance, I give them both the lowest rating. If by chance I receive a replacement, I will update this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars even my parents can do it!, November 12, 2005
We bought this tent for my 65+ y.o. parents-in-law, and after a few attempts, they even learned to put the tent up and down by themselves. The side windows are great up for breeze, and down for privacy if a change in clothes/diapers is needed on the beach. great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars ABO excellent, June 27, 2005
Easy set up and take down. Pull two strings and the item is ready to shelter you. 2 to 3 people can take shelter from the sun. Press the middle piece and shelter goes down easily. Stores in a bag that you can cary on your back. Not heavy or clumsy. Although expensive, worth the convenience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, September 2, 2006

We all love this tent- I love it because it sets up easily and is safe and sturdy for all the abuse my kids and their friends dish out. Kids love it as a playhouse, tent, place to eat, home base - whatever! Great for instant shade on those sunny days at the beach etc. I take ours just about everwhere during the summer - sets up and breaks down really well. The kids like to set it up in the livingroom too! It is light and durable and easy to use. It is instant fun! A great idea for everyone!

Opened fine, but trying to close this tent was a beast and basically it bent on itself and broke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this tent, worth the money, August 6, 2009
This tent is great. Its so easy to pop up and put back that we use it all the time. The beach, the house, the backyard, you name it, we've used the tent for it!!!! It is roomy, I am 5'9 and my husband is 6'1 and we both fit in it with my 2 and 3 year old. The 2 and 3 year old can also nap in it together which is nice. Its very stable against the wind of the beaches here in Jersey and I never even had to use the stakes just the sand pockets(which are awesome by the way). I just used another reviewers suggestion and brought a bunch of gallon size ziploc bags and filled them with sand to make it a bit less messy. Let me end this by saying I am not tent or outdoors savvy AT ALL. This tent was a breeze for me to operate and I can do it quickly. I do suggest trying it out in the house first so you know what to do at the beach. I LOVE THIS TENT !!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the expense, August 5, 2009
The ABO tent seams began to come apart the fourth day we used the tent on our vacation. The poles began to shattered on the fifth day. As far as customer service, I have yet to hear from ABO. Find a different product.
