ABO Gear Hammocat Kitty Hammock

I cannot begin to tell you how much my cats absolutely love this hammock. It is hilarious watching both of them try to fit on it together since it is really only big enough for one cat. I placed it on top of my large dresser and opened the curtains so they can look outside and enjoy the warm sunshine in the morning. This is their favorite sleeping spot.

I am buying a second one so that both of the cats will have one. I should've bought two to begin with, but I wanted to try one first so I'd know if it was worth it. It is worth it!

Unfortunately, there is a down side. The frame is loosely connected and very lightweight. It has a tendency to shift to an angle shape so it looks more like a diamond than a rectangle. I am frequently realigning it. I am trying to figure out ways to give it more support so it doesn't do that any more, but have not come up with anything yet.

My cats wanted me to give it a 5+ but my frustration with the shifting problem forced me to make it a 4.

I purchased this product (or something identical) about two years ago at Tuesday Morning. I wasn't sure how it would fare. It's a winner at my house! I have two cats and they fight over who gets to lay in it! I went by Tuesday Morning today looking for another one and no luck! I've been looking online for hours for something similar (under $20), but no luck. If you see one of these, GRAB IT! Your cats will LOVE it. I do agree that the legs fall apart easily, however, once you learn how to pick it up then there's no problems. Or you can do what another reviewer did, tape it! This tiny nuisance is minimal compared to the joy your cats will get.

Had trouble putting it together. No instructions, had to look at the picture on the outside of the box. Kept falling apart when I picked it up, solved the problem by putting masking tape at all the joints. Frustrating but my cat loves it! That's what its all about, isn't it? She simply loves it.

This thing might be popular with the cats, but it comes apart too easily and is too unstable to allow them to get into it easily. The idea is cute, but the functionality leaves a lot to be desired. Too many pieces.

The whole contraption is unstable, wobbly and certainly does not swing. The canvas has an over-powering smell which cannot be washed off. Neither of my two cats would go anywhere near it.

Cats seem to like to be on top of things. I tried a couple of different cat hammocks. Some of the cheaper ones are just not worth the money. This one has really worked out well though. It gives them a place to snooze which is off the floor but not on the furniture, where they might be disturbed by someone sitting down or getting up. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the pieces don't fit all that snugly together. It's not at all hard to assemble, and it has plenty of support for the cat lying on top of it, but if you pick it up to move it, some of the pieces are likely to become disconnected, so that you have to reassemble it. It's only a minor inconvenience, really. I would still heartily recommend the product to anyone with a cat, especially a young cat. The older ones don't seem to find it worth the effort to climb onto it. Or maybe it's just that the younger ones get to them first.
