I've used this remote for years and it works great. I generally use it from about 40-50 feet away, and can use it subtly, without pointing the remote at the ipod. It finally broke one day when I was pulling the antenna out of the ipod, and the seam had come open, and I pulled the plug and wires out of the circuit board. I had had the seam taped shut for years, because it had come open on me before.
