Music Worth Playing,

First of all, this game works perfectly with a Guitar Hero World Tour guitar. I had seen some postings that say it does not.
I needed something to get me through my down time after a vasectomy so I set my sites on getting better at Guitar Hero so I could put my daughter in her place. Guitar Hero World Tour is fine, but they alway slip in some tracks that do not rock. AC/DC is just what the doctor ordered (no pun intended). 18 tracks that rock from their live performances.

I was so happy to get this and find great, long versions of all my old favorite AC/DC songs. It's such a pleasure to play along with these and relive them in a whole new way. I'm hoping they'll do a bunch of these track packs with other great bands.

My husband and I bought this game and we absolutly love it! The first night we played for about three hours. It was really hard for us to believe we would like it so much because our kids literally had to force us to play regular rock band. Now we kick them off of the wii just to play this game. With the great selection of songs I'm sure we'll be rockin out to this one for a long time.

I was a little nervous that it would not work with my guitar hero "world tour" guitar -but there is no issue. The live music is great for the guitar, but not so great for the signing... Harder to hear and follow. But if you like AC/DC - its worth the cash.

Being a huge fan of AC/DC, and a guitar player, I was anxious to get this title. Having previously played Rock Band, the controls are exactly the same, as expected. Tracks include the same tracks from the "AC/DC Live" DVD from Donnington, recorded in 1991. 18 tracks are included here.
1. "Thunderstruck" 2. "Shoot to Thrill" 3. "Back in Black" 4. "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be" 5. "Heatseeker" 6. "Fire Your Guns" 7. "Jailbreak" 8. "The Jack" 9. "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" 10. "Moneytalks" 11. "Hells Bells" 12. "High Voltage" 13. "Whole Lotta Rosie" 14. "You Shook Me All Night Long" 15. "T.N.T." 16. "Let There Be Rock" 17. "Highway to Hell" 18. "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)"[2] The entire Donnington set-list from the show is here, however, since this game does not feature the video to go along with it, then I have to ask why the heck was more songs not included then? The tracks here are from the DVD itself, but the 2 disc special edition of the "AC/DC Live" release contained more tracks. Such songs are "Are You Ready", "That's The Way I Wanna Rock 'N Roll", "Who Made Who", "The Razors Edge", "Sin City" and they could have probably also included the small Lochlomond solo before Highway To Hell titled "Bonny". Including those last few songs would have been a big help to this release, seeing as how there is no video to watch, and you would not be able to tell the difference in sound quality that the songs may not be from the Donnington show itself. But its not like the songs blend into each other, so they should have been included imo. The other thing that disappoints me is this is only a track pack, something to add to the original Rock Band game... yet, on the Wii console, these tracks are not able to be exported to the original Rock Band game, which makes me wonder why such shoddy treatment has been given to AC/DC's rockband game... is the worlds #2 all time highest record selling artist not worthy of their own game? Why the heck does Green Day get their own little mods and likeness put into their version, yet AC/DC has the same background as Rock Bands? There is no Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams or Chris Slade in this game... instead it's a young looking band with a female on bass guitar....WTF?????? Would it have been so hard to make a game for AC/DC somewhere along the lines of the much better treatment "The Beatles" rock band game received? I dunno, maybe AC/DC didn't want to give the rights to do such a thing, after all, they are tough cookies to crack when it comes to licensing rights and they still refuse to allow their back-catalogs to be purchased online (Itunes etc...) and still managed to outsell just about everyone else that year of their last #1 album... maybe it was an executive mistake to not allow a full Rock Band game dedicated to them... who knows? There is also something else I wish they had done differently. The tracks on here of "Jailbreak" and "High Voltage" are not trimmed versions, and I wish they had have trimmed them down for this game, or at least given an option to play a trimmed version as to the full thing. There comes a lot of times where the song is just going too long. When you are actually watching AC/DC live, and seeing them go into a breakdown where Angus will solo away and then stop for a bit to strip off, it's one thing, but to actually have to play along with it, and not see anything visually, it can get pretty tiresome.... and some of the solos go on forever. Jailbreak didn't need the full solo in it for Rock Band, but at least the end solo was cut out of "Let There Be Rock" or else anyone not playing the guitar would probably get bored to death waiting for the end of the song to finish.... you also receive this right off the bat with Thunderstruck... it's a good minute or so before anything but the drum symbols come into play... would it have been so wrong to just trim it a little and have a 4 to 8, or even a 16 beat intro instead of the, i think, 36 beat intro before the guitar comes into it?! Same goes for Hells Bells chimes going too long before the song... it just was not necessary to include the tracks in their entirety for a video game, which is a real shame, because songs like Jailbreak are a favorite of mine, but me and my girlfriend always skip it, simply because it goes on way too long. So I haven't really said much good about the game yet... so, being a guitarist myself, I want to tell you that this game does not get a thing close to emulating playing a real guitar, as I can guarantee you playing the lead on the intro to Thunderstruck is no where near as difficult as playing it on this game on "Expert" mode....2 fingers are required to play the first part of the intro, not all 5... but who cares, this games not meant to teach you a REAL guitar. On much easier difficulties, the game is pretty good. Some have complained it seemed too hard... well, keep practicing dudes, it's not that hard on Easy or Medium difficulties, no more difficult then any other Rock Band game... in-fact, if you want to see what harder more advanced skills are needed on easy difficulty settings, try Guitar Hero and put Joe Satriani's "Satch Boogie" on and then complain about easy being not-so-easy. If you do own other Rock Band titles, then what makes this one a little more unique then others is the outro/crash outs/free time/ends of a lot of the songs. AC/DC are notorious for these outro's they do, where they just thrash the chords in free time and can do so for over a minute. One particular song on here is "Let There be Rock" where you can earn twice as many points in the outro as you do in the song itself. I have only seen this end style freeplay pop-up once in Rock Band, it may be in other songs, but if it sounds like you might have some fun with it, then definitely go for this game, if it doesn't, then you may just hate this game where you have to keep toggling the pick switch and holding down whatever button you want, for a good minute or two... and then you have to hit that last note to be awarded the points... what can make it even more difficult is if you play on Band mode with friends, because now everyone of you have to hit that last note, if anyone missus it, you don't get the points! So, I've gone over most of what I think you would want to know about the game. So there is no AC/DC members in the game, nothing much more then some trivia tracks about the game... and please, understand, this is AC/DC live, from 1991, so don't go complaining that songs like "Its a Long Way To The Top" or "Big Balls" are not included... Bon Scott died in 1980, and out of respect for him, Brian Johnson does not want to sing those songs, as he believes they are Bon's songs, and should have only been sung by him.... not to mention, AC/DC have NEVER played "Big Balls" live... ever! Sure, it would be awesome to have a hundred other AC/DC songs to be available here, but this is just from the Live show, not a greatest hits or even studio album recordings for that matter. Overall, the game is OK, if you love AC/DC songs, which I do, but it just could have been so much more... but for the cheap price its going for, what do you expect?

One complaint: 1) there are only 18 songs. Other, more recent Guitar Hero/Rock Band games that honor one specific band (Metallica, The Beatles, Green Day) offer many more songs, making them more worthwhile purchases. If the price was commensurate with the number of songs, I'd have little to complain about (compared to Guitar Hero, the timing requires more precision and can be difficult for certain songs). All of AC/DC's best songs are here, and it is fun to play along. A "No Fail" option would be nice (Green Day has this), and depicting the actual band instead of having a female guitarist (where's Angus Young?) and adding more songs would bring it up to par with other band-specific games.

The sound track and guitar play is outstanding! We have a Guitar Hero guitar - I was concerned it wouldn't work with the Rock Band disc. Other reviews gave me confidence that it would, and it did - no glitches at all! Just sync the remote with the console. The game is a lot of fun to play. However, I was disappointed with the band graphics. Musician characters don't even remotely look like AC/DC band counterparts (Angus, etc.). It's disappointing. But if you're focused on the music and the play, it's not that big of a deal. You'd think the manufacturer would have tried just a little to make the characters realistic - hence 4 stars - otherwise I would give it 5.

This track pack is awesome! all the songs are great songs, very nice to hear and VERY fun to play, you'll feel like a real rock star this time, unlike with other rock band games or track packs!
The song selection is near perfection since you will enjoy all of them whether you're the biggest AC/DC fan ever, or you've never heard a song, or haven't even heard of this band. Some kinds of fans could be disappointed though, since fans tend to be more like "connoissers" and like the underground songs that nobody knows about except for them, and are sick and tired of the most famous songs, or singles. I wouldn't recommend this game to that kind of fan unless they are collectors and want to have the game just to say they have the game. If your that kind of fan but still like the singles and famous songs then you'll have a blast with this track pack. I gave the track pack 4 stars instead of 5 only because there are not enough songs in my opinion, this band diserved a whole game (like rock band beatles) with a lot more songs and features, not just a track pack. Actually, I don't think ANY band should have a track pack instead of a whole game....I don't mind the track packs as long as they are a mix of songs of the same genre (like metal, country and classic rock track packs just to name a few). But if you're going to make a game about a band, do it the whole way!!! Beside that the game is perfect!

The songs on this game are great and the Band Hero guitar works fine with it, but it doesn't recognize the drum controller at all! Which is a bummer, because the Band Hero drums have worked fine with Rockband 3 and Guitar Hero games. I guess live and learn and make sure you check compatibility first!
