4.0 out of 5 stars Good tracks, lousy interface.
AC/DC Live: Track Pack has all the rock-edge you've wanted to play in a music game. The songs are fun to play, with accurate-enough charts and tunes that even if you didn't think you knew--most of which--you'll realize you've heard on your local rock station a dozen times before (which by no means is a bad thing). Obviously this will cater the most to fans of the band,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Got for Rock Band 3 Export
I ordered this for export. The export is absolutely free. The game is in RB1 format, so that makes the game itself of lower quality. The tracks are fantastic.

This review is from: AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack (Video Game)
AC/DC Live: Track Pack has all the rock-edge you've wanted to play in a music game. The songs are fun to play, with accurate-enough charts and tunes that even if you didn't think you knew--most of which--you'll realize you've heard on your local rock station a dozen times before (which by no means is a bad thing). Obviously this will cater the most to fans of the band, and really, if you don't at least moderately like AC/DC I have no idea why you'd pick this up.

All of the songs are currently--and possibly *forever*--exclusive to this disc, so don't expect to find them in the DLC updates. According to an article I read online, AC/DC refuses to put out individual tracks (either in music games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero, nor individual mp3s found in services like iTunes) because they consider themselves a 'full-album band'... which is an unusual attitude to have, but I get it, I guess.

The only qualm I really have with this Track Pack is that, since it uses the Rock Band 1 system, you need to play through a Career-style menu in order to unlock each song. (Eg. You start off with Song 1 and can't advance until you beat it, which then unlocks Song 2 to play.. then Song 3.. and Song 4, etc.) Although, once you've completed all of the songs, they're yours to play in Quickplay, but don't expect to be able to create your own tracklist once you have unlocked them all--you'll need the Rock Band 2 functions for such things.

Luckily, the game comes with a one-time use transfer code--as mentioned in the description--to let you download the entire set as one giant file to your 360's harddrive for use with either Rock Band game in the series (and supposedly future Rock Band games as well, but we'll see about that), keep in mind that you'll need to connect to Xbox Live Marketplace to use the transfer code however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Expansion, September 25, 2010

Great set of songs to expand Rock Band with. If you bought it new (and you should), you can import the songs into Rock Band for free. Although many people don't like live songs, ACDC's Live is considered one of the best live albums to come out. I have to agree, so there's no compromise in quality with this pack because the songs are live.

5.0 out of 5 stars Now THIS makes rock band ROCK!, December 9, 2008

I put the track pack in and play all 18 ac/dc songs in a row! Great endurance songs on the drums! So fun! I'm a babbling idiot, trying to think of something better to say besides OOOH this is much better than a lot of that weird thrashy stuff that fills rock band. I know every song on this trackpack by heart via my headbanging teenage years, but the music is basically ROCK not metal or thrash or punk. Just so awesome. Worth every cent and more. Thanks, ACDC, for releasing this great addition to an already awesome game!

Fairwarning: ac/dc has rare technical drum moments but is basically an endurance test + fun. The guitar is a blast to play, more veried and technical than the drums -- but I don't like technical, tho, so I tend to love the simplicity of ac/dc on drums. If you love complexity, mathmatically and musically-speaking on drums (off-beats and 8th notes etc) this track-pack isn't going to be your cup of tea at all. However, the songs are really LONG and you get a great work out and have an awesome, but non-technical time just beating away to simple beats. I played all 18 songs the first night on Hard and beat the trackpack. Easy and medium are really slow if you play rockband drums often. Expert offered more challanging moments. But if you're what I deem a 'problem-solver' or if you have a great ear, like my piano-playing-genius-with music-great-at-patterns daughter, you'll probably find this trackpack unvaried and boring - if on the other hand you're not a problem-solver, hate patterns, and are just a wild drum beater and like to have fun without thinking too hard (like I do) you'll love it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Will not import into Lego or Rock Band 3, October 19, 2011

Wanted to import songs into Lego Rock Band for my kids or into Rock Band 3 for myself. Was unable to do either. Apparently you can only import the songs into Rock Band 2 or use the poor interface the game comes with.

3.0 out of 5 stars Live Tracks... kinda Suck., February 19, 2011
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack (Video Game)
I will start by saying this: It's WORTH it for the number of good songs by ACDC (plus the fact that it's mostly a good selection of their hits) versus the price. (Equals out to a very good deal! Compare to $1-2 per song on the Rockband store!)

On the other hand, what I should have but did not realize before I bought this is that the whole album is nothing but live tracks.
This means none of them quite sound right. They don't sound like you remember. This isn't so bad on the guitar, drums etc. But it makes a BIG difference on vocals.
If you want this so you can sing your favorite AC\DC songs like you know them... you're in for some disappointment. They aren't really even remotely the same live.
It caused me to nearly fail out of a few tracks that I know I'd have aced if they had been true to the album versions.

That said, I really wish Rockband wouldn't put live tracks out at all. It throws we vocalists for a loop. (Plus live is only good if you're actually, you know, there. Live.)

Worth the meager price? Sure.
Is it a major let down that they did the live versions? Definitely.

1.0 out of 5 stars These aren't the studio recordings, January 26, 2012
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack (Video Game)
I suppose that it should have been obvious given the cover art, but the recordings on this game are not the same as the studio recordings I've heard over and over again for the past thirty years. They are live recordings taken from the AC/DC Live release from the early '90's. That makes the songs extremely difficult to perform well. That's too bad, too, because I was really looking forward to this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too many big finishes., September 4, 2011
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack (Video Game)
It's great to have more AC/DC on Rock Band but since these are concert versions of the songs you loose that studio quality. Angus is high energy in concert and really works for his money but when I have to do those long big finishes, I just feel it takes away from the experience.
Now that the rhythm games are slowing down in the market, I don't think we'll see a collection of AC/DC studio songs for the game so if you like AC/DC, this is pretty much what you're stuck with.
Since this is an all AC/DC game I would have liked see AC/DC band members.

If you are an AC/DC fan, you'll love this game. For the money it is a great value though I would probably think differently had I paid the full MSRP on this game.

There isn't much in the way of fun in this game, it is a completely self-contained game, but really it's what it says it is, a track pack. So it's really only for fans of AC/DC. Guitar work really is hard on "hard".

It allows you to import some of the tracks into Lego Rock Band but only about 4 of them I think. The ones they consider to be "clean" enough.
