This review is from: The ACCIDENTAL CENTURY (Board book)
Covers a wide range of Western literature and political issues. Harrington says that our (1960s) society in collective, so why not have socialism which would make the collective society democratic? It is from the labor unions joining with middle class liberals, and Afro-Americans (then called Negros) that this form of free socialism can come about. This is a restatement of the views of civil rights leaders Bayard Rustin and A. Philip Randolph. If only their ideas had been followed at the time.
