I bought a box of these. AMAZON says they are "ACCO Washers For Prong Paper File Fasteners, 1.25 Inch Diameter, 100 per Box (71511)".
AMAZON states: 1.25" in diameter. That is incorrect!
The correct size as measured with dial calipers is about 1/2".
The plastic box the washers come is about 1.5" across, though.
Ignore the post about getting 10 boxes and 1,000 washers in your order. You will get 1 box with 100 washers for your $8.03 (as of 8-14-2013).
Using 2 washers and 2 brads per script (NOT THREE!) will do 50 of your scripts. Be sure to punch the paper with 3-holes, also.
Yes, I know, 3 holes and 2 brads. Brads go on the top and bottom, leaving the center hole open.
That is INDUSTRY STANDARD PRACTICE. DO NOT USE 3 BRADS! Only a newbie would included the 3rd brad.
My only gripe is that I only got the one tiny box of a hundred washers and not the extra 9 boxes that some of the lucky purchasers were fortunate to have gotten (Boo!). Ah well, still a great little product and worth the price.

Great product - brass is thicker than the cheaper version sold online. However still very pricey. They should lower the price to students and shipping is ridiculous. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Mark Llerena
