Not Necessarily The Ones You Need,

This review is from: ACCO Washers For Prong Paper File Fasteners, 1.25 Inch Diameter, 100 per Box (71511) (Office Product)
These are washers, do not go by the picture shown. These are not the actual brads/brass fasteners for a screenplay. These are washers that will go between the brad and pages. Used primarily with brads that have small heads. You still need 1 and 1/4in brass fasteners for screenplays (especially for professional contests and jobs). The picture shown is what you need, but not what this product is. As far as washers go, however, these are very nice. (Update: They have since changed the picture and is as shown).

If you use prong fasteners you have to use the washers, they keep the prongs from sliding and they keep the papers from tearing. GET THEM, you will need them. Im telling you, you will fasten your papers and think "ok, thats fine" and then over time you will notice your pages tearing and your fasteners slipping. The washers hold everything in place. GET THEM!!!

These are thin brass washers. They are only about 0.5 inch in diameter not 1.25 inch as labeled. They will work however.

I've written 120+ screenplays in my time, sold 3 and been apart of many more as an on again off again screenwriter.
(I don't do it full time anymore as I am a musician first these days) So, yeah, I've read many screenplays and, as I said, wrote many in my time. The one problem I always see when critiquing screenplays, and I do that too, is they're never fully binded right. They're always missing the lock washer on the back to keep it in place. You need these, along with 1.5inch brads, 20lb paper for the script itself and 110lbs card stock for your cover. Trust me. |
