5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent EOU, very good value
I used this Accusplit Pro Survivor stopwatch for much of the track season (coaching Jr. High track). The ease of use was excellent. I really liked the tactal feedback of the buttons -- no doubt when they are pushed. The buttons are warranted for 5 years, and the device is "date coded" so that no receipt is neccessary if you do need to get it fixed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cannot review split times - Useless for swimming
This is a perfectly good stopwatch - if all you want to do is note your finish time, or note 1/2 finish times. But, if you want to remember split times, you'd better have pen and paper handy. Once you restart the watch following a split, there is no way to cycle through and view the split times! So, if you're trying to time multiple swimmers/runners, or if you're trying...

The display is easy to read, even for my old eyes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cannot review split times - Useless for swimming, February 14, 2009

This is a perfectly good stopwatch - if all you want to do is note your finish time, or note 1/2 finish times. But, if you want to remember split times, you'd better have pen and paper handy. Once you restart the watch following a split, there is no way to cycle through and view the split times! So, if you're trying to time multiple swimmers/runners, or if you're trying to record 25/50 split times, this is not the watch for you. Again, no fault of the manufacturer or the reviews - I should have looked more closely at the functions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Stopwatch, January 11, 2008

One thing only mentioned briefly in the description - this watch does NOT make a beeping noise when you hit the buttons. It makes a sort of dull click. For those of us looking to use a stopwatch in a quiet environment and an unobtrusive way (I'm a stage manager) this is FANTASTIC.
*Edit - after 8 months of use the clock on the stopwatch is unreliable. I have had to reset it about once every two months - it very slowly gets fast.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice product, December 8, 2007

The Pro Survivor is somewhat better than the survivor because it offers extra shock resistance; more water resistance; no fail switches and an extra large display. The XL display was important for me. The watch is simple. It measures minutes, seconds and 1/100 seconds up to 40 minutes, then it only measures hours, minutes and seconds. The time and date features were not important to me. It has a five year warranty without proof of purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great basic timer, October 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use this for timing speeches in my public speaking class. It is incredibly easy to run and the readout is large and clear. It is durable so when my students take turns being the time keeper, it doesn't matter if the stopwatch falls on the floor or gets banged around. For my needs, this fits the bill.

5.0 out of 5 stars A solid buy, July 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Before buying the ACCUSPLIT Pro Survivor, I had purchased another brand which I had to return, because the button action was very inconsistent. I read the reviews on the Pro Survivor before I bought it and it is exactly as advertised. One thing worth noting is that it does not make a beeping sound when the buttons are depressed, which I knew ahead of time. However, the button action makes a clicking sound and the action is so good that there is no doubt whether the button was pushed or not. I bought the Pro Survivor to mount on my knee-board for use during my instrument training as a pilot. The big display helps me see it from a distance with clarity. Overall a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stopwatch for boating use, May 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this stopwatch for use while on safety patrols with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. We have to time legs for navigation and search patterns for our Search and Rescue mission. Also, since we are not allowed to wear wrist watches or any other jewelry while on patrols for safety reasons, and due to the vibrations and motion of our boats, especially in rough waters, making hard to read a watch, I find that the large numerical display and simplicity of the function buttons, make it a very useful tool for our patrols. Plus with the lanyard I can hang it around my neck and tuck into my life vest.

The only negative was that it took me a while to figure out how to set the time due to lack of instructions and that it is not intuitive.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't see past Split times!!!, March 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Be careful!! As one reviewer said, you cannot go back and see what the split times were! My son is doing triathlons and in tris you measure six times: swim, transition, bike, transition, run and overall.

Yes, I presumed since it measured split times AND is called Accusplit that I could go back and see those times.

Maybe its a good stop watch for the right needs. But won't anyone who orders a split stopwatch want to go back and see the splits?

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for timing rest in between sets., January 23, 2010

Works for me. I just use it to time my rest period in between sets at the gym. I chose this over a wristwatch because I hate lifting weights with stuff on my wrist. This sits comfortably around my neck and the buttons on it are very easy to press. This is perfect if you are looking for something to take to the gym.
