Ready for Hearts to meet Spades and Whist? Well then you are ready to play Wizard Deluxe. US Games has a true game of skill and strategy. Wizard Deluxe requires the players to make sure they only bid what they can take and no more.
The game is fairly fast paced and requires at least three players. I found that have four or more really makes the game enjoyable. It is skill and thought that makes you the winner in this game. Since there is very few pieces, cleanup an d storage are no real problem.
US Games has included very simple and easy to follow instructions. The rules are bi-lingual, which is a really nice addition to the game. The age of play is from 10 to adult, but I found that this game might be a little advanced for some of the younger players.
Wizard Deluxe is a great gift for any occasion and is very reasonably priced. So if you are looking for a great family game or a game for those weekend get together, go out an get Wizard Deluxe Card Game.

Our family loves this game. I agree that it isn't good for younger players (probably under 11 or 12) unless they play a lot of card games. It is similar to a game played with a standard deck (we call it "Oh, heck" but that isn't the original name!), but Wizards adds a number of fun twists that make the game more unpredictable. It definitely involves strategy and skill, but there is an aspect of luck as well, which makes it perfect for playing with groups with wide-ranging degrees of card playing skills. It is also one of the best games out there for three players, although I agree that it is even more fun with more players. Highly recommended for those who enjoy card games.

If you like to play cards, have 3-5 friends to play with, want something different with a couple new twists to keep it interesting, Wizard is for you. A variation on a game we call "Oh, Hell" that is played with a standard deck, Wizard takes it to a more exciting level. By the addition of "Wizard" and "Jester" cards the makers of this game have created a better version of a basic card game. The bidding wheels (shown outside the box in the picture) add another dimension if you want to change things up a bit. We play this game every holiday and many days in between. For $10-15 dollars, you can't go wrong.

This game challenges you at multiple levels...strategy, contingency planning, bluffing, and...of course, execution. It is one of the few games where you can play to lose a trick only to win the hand. Great fun for kids 8 to 98.

Four years ago I was introduced to the game of Wizard by an ex-boyfriend and his family. That relationship didn't last, but my facination with the card game remains. It is a great game because of its flexible number of players, fast-paced and above all, entertaining. It is an easy game to teach new players because it is based on several popular card games including hearts, spades, and whist. Nearly everyone who I have played the game with enjoys it and rushes out to purchase their own deck.

I was introduced to this game over Thanksgiving 2010 and have not stopped playing it since. It resembles the card game spades but because of the four included "jester" cards and four "wizard" cards the ability to be a constant winner by "card counting" (as is easily done in spades) levels the playing field. I have played it with 3, 4, 5, and 6 players and each grouping brings its own challenges. I have bought eight sets of this game and shared it with friends around the country. We have family and friends dropping by just to play a round or two of Wizards. The cards are very durable with a little care. We have used the same deck we bought in December and have played 100's of games with it. The counters provided in the deluxe set help keep track of individual bids. A great game for middle teens and up.

We love the game and cards are nice and sturdy, but the dials that record our bid are cardboard and easily change numbers to easily. Our friends, who introduced us to the game have plastic dials that click into place and stay put. Our games looks exactly alike except for our cheap dials. Don't understand why we didn't get good dials.

I bought this to replace a very worn out deck and liked that it came with bid counters for each player. They really come in handy. My frineds and family played so much over Thanksgiving holiday camping for 6 days, my new cards are very well worn in all ready! Love this game, so much fun with 3 players, TONS OF FUN with 6 players! I would recommend this game to everyone!
