The Best Knee Brace,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ACE Neoprene Open Knee Brace, One Size Fits All (Health and Beauty)
The old Ace knee brace has been greatly improved. The photo on the package shows the old, standard knee brace. However, what is inside is somewhat different. It still has the open patella and two velcro straps that wrap around over the top of the thigh, above the knee, and below the knee. However, the velcro is greatly improved and is a flatter style that still sticks amazingly well. The brace has an inside "sleeve" that fits behind the knee giving further support and comfort. The material is still neoprene but with rounded edges and a nice whip-stitch trim that leaves no raw edges. The brace is also more shaped so that it hugs the knee and the areas surrounding the knee giving more support. I like the new brace so much that I am ordering another one the day after receiving the first.
The new design is overall an excellent improvement and the brace will fit any size knee.

One Size Doesn't Fit All,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ACE Neoprene Open Knee Brace, One Size Fits All (Health and Beauty)
My doctor ordered me to wear a brace like this for my torn miniscus and tendonitis. It worked reasonably well for short distances, but after walking only two or three blocks it would start to bunch in the middle and slide down and not give me the support my knee really needed. I needed to wear the brace all day, and had to constantly adjust it and pull it up until I finally gave in and bought another brand.
Yes the top and bottom part of the brace were adjustable for a wide range of sizes (including my own), but the middle which isn't adjustable was just too big for me. I was shocked that this brace was so insufficient given all the positive reviews and no mentions of this problem, but I would suggest to anyone shopping for a brace not to order one for all sizes, especially not this specific brace.

i thought this knee brace would have a little more structure to it, but it's really just a big ace bandage with a hole cut out for your kneecap. it does a very good job and i haven't injured my knee again since using it, but it's a bit bulky behind the knee. makes bending even a little slightly uncomfortable. but hey, its cheap. i use it for running.

I bought two of these braces on Amazon shortly after discovering I had patellofemeral pain syndrome (aka runners knee) in both knees. Overall the braces are good. I really like how adjustable they are. I have a slim build so finding a brace that was adjustable was important. I use the braces while running cross-country, playing tennis, playing soccer, and during PE at school (I'm in Jr. High).
Pros -cheap (I paid $10 per brace) -provides compression support -adjustable -doesn't bunch up in the back -keeps my knees nice and warm on those cold days (I haven't had a chance to use them in warm weather yet...) -the "comfort sleeve" is a really nice addition to the brace -there are instructions on the box and on the comfort sleeve for putting on (even though its not that hard) -not bulky, I can almost forget it's there Cons -large, white ACE writing on top strap (conveniently not shown in the picture) -the Velcro is attached to the neoprene so after a while the neoprene gets that fuzzy look and feel -since I have slight knock knees I often rub my knees together while running resulting in the Velcro coming off the top on my right knee -the comfort sleeve makes it nearly impossible to put on the braces with shoes on -your range of motion goes down dramatically, could be good or bad Overall I would recommend this brace to someone if they want support for a low price and don't care about looks.

Not a good design,

This does provide some compression but it is uncomfortable to wear for long or for much bending activity. The strap that goes behind the knee "bites" your skin and becomes very irritating if you try to run. It also tends to slide down my knee and the hole for the kneecap seems too small.

I enjoy hiking, but my knees no longer appreciate climbing up and down a mountain on their own. These braces are really comfortable and easy to put on and take off. They give me the confidence to know that once I get up a mountain, I'll be able to get down without the pain I was having in the past.

Works Great,

Product arrived very quickly. Used it on my laft knee. Initally I put it on too tightly so my calf actually swelled after a couple of days. Went to putting it on much more loosely and the support has been fine. Pain is actually gone now after about a month of use and I can now go 4 or 5 days without using it at all. Then put it back on for 2 or 3 days. Works great and I'm very happy with it.

This brace is very lose. I don't have skinny knees/legs, so it shouldn't be lose.
The main problem is that the part taht is supposed to cove the back of the knee is made of a thing material, is not neopren, so this makes the barce lose. Also the material used for the rest of the brace is not "thcik-tight" kind, it's very thin and stretchy, so you knee will not be streched at all.

this is leap years ahead of the elastic braces, which over time weaken. this has velcro straps top and bottom to make ANY adjustment and account for wear. this is ultra comfortable. it does create sweat, as does a scuba sweat suit..it is neaoprene! since YOU make the adjusment, it can be done according to your own needs. i found it comfortable and stury and supportive
i can not think of a better brace for the price.

one size does not fit all,

bought this item for a little extra knee support during workouts. read all reviews and believed this would fit being plus sized. wrong. there is a comfort sleeve to protect your leg from chaffing i assume. this did not fit. tried without sleeve and brace fit, but not well. bunched on sides and did not stabilize my knee at all. very disappointed.
