3.0 out of 5 stars does not wrap tightly, but helps wrist pain, July 26, 2009

After breaking my wrist multiple times I sometimes have bouts of extreme sensitivity and stiffness in my wrist. The only thing that seems to help is an ace bandage wrapped snugly for a few days. I purchased this wrap because I thought it would be easier to take on and off than an ace wrap. Overall I am happy with it, but it does not give me the firm support that an ace wrap does. It helps prevent me from slightly and suddenly twisting my wrist, and makes a big difference when writing or typing, but does not prevent my wrist from bending when I place more pressure on it (i.e. if I fall down and try to catch myself). Actually, I retain very good range of motion with this brace on- not really what I look for in a support brace. It works for mild wrist discomfort, but for the bad pain and stiffness I still rely on a metal brace or ace wrap to prevent any bending.

conclusion: buy if you need minor support and you want to retain your range of movement, don't buy if you are looking for the support of an ace wrap or if bending/twisting your wrist makes your pain worse as this will not prevent that.

Had a bad case of tennis wrist after 3 days of intense tennis..was swollen up and i was worried re: being out of action for a couple of months. Decided to buy a couple of compression wraps..this being one of them..magically [tho i am sure lot had to do with the fact that i probably didn't hurt myself as bad as i thought i did] within a few days am fully healed! The wrap was VERY easy to put on and manage and did a nice job keeping the wrist stable..I'm a happy camper!

I was very happy with the fit, comfort and quality of this wrap. Wore it at night (splinted brace during the day) for sprained wrist.

2.0 out of 5 stars Support in the wrong places, November 28, 2010
This review is from: ACE Wrist Wrap, One Size Fits All (Health and Beauty)
If you think you might have carpal tunnel syndrome, don't use this wrap. It does keep your wrist warm, but that makes everything inside contract and can actually make the swelling and pinching in the carpal tunnel even worse. Ice is the rule here.

That said, the wrap doesn't immobilize your wrist so you could still use bad posture and form with it on, albeit less severely. If you wear it too tightly you can immobilize your wrist but then you also stop the circulation to your hand. The thumb hole can dig into your skin rather uncomfortably if you're not wearing it correctly and it squeezes the bones in your hand together like you're trying to touch your thumb to your pinky, which can make the pain even worse. This thing also does nothing if you have pain in your index finger shooting down to your wrist. Do yourself a favor and get a properly made, fitted wrap before you do further injury with this thing.

I have lots of problems with my right wrist and spend a lot of time on the computer. I have over a half a dozen wraps and braces for my right hand. This is the first I have found that let's me use the mouse and not put too much stress on my thumb. I will definitely be buying extra's.

I had a recent bicycle accident in which I broke my fall with my hands. Both wrists were injured, so I bought two of these. No matter how much adjusting I did, the thumb holes pinched the nerves going to my thumbs, making them feel "asleep". I still don't have any feeling in some parts of my left thumb.

Futuro makes a similar product with a much more comfortable thumb hole. See the Amazon product link, below.

this didn't do anything for my wrist, except make my thumb numb. it is useless for keeping your wrist from bending down or up.

5.0 out of 5 stars USED FOR MANY YEARS, MY "CARPENTERS WRIST" APPRECIATES THEM., May 5, 2011

A life long carpenter I am, forty years + in the profession. I worked when projects were nailed by hand, no air tools or screw guns. I greatly appreciate the new innovations I use the air tools and screw guns as much as I can now.

My carpenters wrist appreciates the steady support these wraps give the tendons at the wrist - arm junction, THESE WRAPS DO NOT INTERFERE WITH TOOL USAGE, BE IT SPORT OR WORK.

A well respected nurse once told me to wear the wraps at night to provide continued relief, she was right, and I do.

After over 10 years of use I just bought another set, probably my 5th or 6th. They really work.
