My expectations were fairly high with this swivel bar stool with arm rests not only because of the price but also because of the other reviews that that I've seen elsewhere for this specific model.

Sadly, my first impression was spoiled by the fact that this stool is insanely deconstructed - I expected some assembly but when I opened the package and witnessed the amount of hardware supplied my heart sank. What then transpired was nearly two hours of construction which would have gone much quicker with clearer instructions. If you're going to charge this amount for a seat please get someone who speaks English to translate the directions. Plus half way through I realize we had a big problem which ended up with me repairing a large split to the stool where the backrest attaches to the seat. The damage was where one of the uprights of the backrest attaches and this required me to drill a hole and place a bolt through the seat ring the secure it so that it would be safe enough to lean back on. This was clearly caused by a sloppy manufacturer and NOT shipping, which is why I mention it, as the aged stain applied to the wood was also applied to the damage. Sweet - not much quality control here.

I would normally have sent the entire thing back but since it was over 50% together and I was confident I could repair it without being too obvious I proceeded to finish putting it together.

And you know... once together you know it's really not bad. Not worth the money though, even if it came in pristine condition, but not a bad bar stool at least from first trying it out for a while. It's high, which I absolutely love but it's deceptively narrow between the arm rests. I'm not the thinnest of chaps and I can comfortably sit in it but if I put on 20lbs I'd be having problems.

Overall a 3.5 star experience.

The bar stools look very much like were advertised. There is a trick to assembleing them. Halfway through the assembly once the legs are together you need to set them where they are going and then attach the seat. Otherwise they are wobbly.
