5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy, softest faux fur ever and comfy shoes/slipper
I wear a size 7 and these were snug but not too. The souls are thick enough to wear outside and with the weather resistant finish, they are perfect for in doors or out doors. They are warm, soft and super comfortable. The memory foam foot bed molds to my foot, like they were made just for me. They are very sturdy and well made. I definitely plan on buying more.

3.0 out of 5 stars M'lady's foot won't fit
I bought the Chinchilla slippers as a gift for my wife during the holidays. We've each purchased Acorn slippers in the past and have enjoyed them, as comfortable as old friends.
The Chinchilla slippers arrived and looked beautiful and well-made. Unfortunately, my wife's size 10.5 foot wouldn't fit into them.
I believe that the sizing designation is a bit...

I believe that the sizing designation is a bit too broad. "X-Large, 9.5M to 10.5M" is closer to size 10, I think.
(Perhaps a 10.5 narrow foot would fit.)

I normally wear a size smaller than the range I ordered, and these were still way too tight in the toe box. I've loved other Acorn styles, but the sizing on these seems way off.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable., November 14, 2009

These slippers are very warm and comfortable. They have alot of padding and support, much more than other comparable slippers for the same price or more. My only issue with them is the material on the outside. The fur inside is great but the outer part is a fabric that attracts everything. I have a pug and it seems like every hair my slippers come across stick to it. I took them outside and when I came back in, I could hardly see my slippers because there were so many leaves stuck to them. It is very hard to remove hair, lint, and other debris that sticks to them. It really seems like they grip to every small object your shoes come in contact with. I tried washing them but they still look pretty messy and the fabric is now pilling. They would have been much better if they were suede or fleece. However, they are probably the most comfortable slippers I have ever had so I would still recommend them, just be careful what you come into contact with.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, December 20, 2008
By
High quality, weird fit: Tried these on in a store and felt comfy, but once I wore them for about 10 minutes I had to take them off. The back came up so high it had rubbed a raw spot on my ankle already. My husband didn't believe me until I showed him! Also a very tight fit--I wear an 8 normally and can't imagine being a size 9 and fitting in these. The front is the tightest part, but I think it may have stretched some if I had been able to wear them longer, but who wants to break in a slipper? Nice fabric and the lining is very soft and fuzzy. Acorn has very cushy insoles in all their slippers. I now have a sheepskin slipper from them for $70 and they are great--very high quality and will last me for several years.

This is the PERFECT set of slippers- IF you wear a shoe size under 9.5. I wear anywhere in between a 9.5-10 shoe, so I ordered the 9.5-10.5 thinking it should be alright, but no such luck. The slippers fit perfectly everywhere except for the front part of the opening, which was uncomfortably tight. I ended up giving these to my mom, who wears a size 8.5 shoe, and they fit her just right. (She ended up stretching them out enough that I could fit into them comfortably almost a year later, though...)

I never want to take these slippers off! I have very high arches and have trouble finding comfortable shoes, but I wear these everywhere and all the time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Has arch support, November 15, 2011

PROS:
Warm and cosy.
Very reasonably priced.
Washable.
Bonafide arch support for over-pronators. Wouldn't do for all-day wear, but will keep you from aggravating or causing Plantar Fasciitis when worn for a few hours/day on the weekend, for instance.
The outsole works to walk outdoors briefly, flexes where it needs to and not where it shouldn't, and provides a small amount of cushioning.

CONS:
Not as cushioned as I expected. The foam under the faux fur insole is very low density. Basically you bottom out to the outsole as soon as you stand up, if you weigh more than a housecat. But the outsole itself cushions a bit.
The faux fur insole can't be removed for washing. You can only wash the entire slipper.

POINTS TO CONSIDER:
These are a bit bulky appearing. Some women like that in a slipper, others don't.
They are cut for "low volume feet". That means the depth of your foot from the top to the sole needs to be on the thin side or you'll have a hard time getting into these. The size Large fit my size 8-1/2, medium width, low volume foot perfectly. The snugness around the instep enhances the arch support.

For me they are a good value for the purpose, and overall I'm glad I got them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What I Wanted, November 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had never purchased Acorn before, so I wasn't sure about fit or quality. I am a 7.5 to 8 size, but went with the 8-9 and they are a great fit. Easy to slide my foot in and out without using my hands, but do not slide up and down on my foot when I walk. The hard sole is perfect for walking outside, and gives me great support if I wear them through the day. The inside "fur" is extremely soft and molds to the foot. I am very happy with this purchase and will definitely purchase another Acorn product in the future.
