I bought these speakers before I knew what I was doing. These speakers have a 4 ohm impedence. Most modern receivers expect your speakers to be 8 ohms (some 6). Putting 4 ohm speakers on a 8 ohm receiver can cause heat issues and degrade the lifetime of your system. I believe this company (Accoustic Research) is liquidating all of their assetts and they are trying to sell off this antiquated speaker set.
