As a registered nurse in an HIV clinic I purchased this book to study for the ACRN exam. However, the information in this book is so extremely outdated my co-workers and I spent the afternoon reading it and laughing. Even though the copyright on the inside page says 2016, many of the explanations say, "and it is expected that by 2010..." implying that it has not been updated in likely 10 years. Many of the medications regarded as proper treatment are medications that are not even manufactured any longer. Additionally, I can attest that this book was not written by someone with a background in HIV treatment. The text constantly repeats itself and gives a vibe similar to one written by a freshman nursing student, highlighting shock factor and omitting details. Save yourself the money and do not buy this because it is a huge waste of money.
