None of the media players, TV, DVD players, etc will power this drive on without at least a booster cable from another USB slot. I actually use the USB power boost cable to power the drive from an external supply when using with my media player devices. My PC and laptop have enough power to get it spinning with just one USB connection.
The reason the photo in the ad is mostly from the top is so that you don't see that the drive is almost as thick as a paperback. The Adata drive is nearly as thick as TWO Toshiba USB 2.0 drives that I have. See photos.
Unfortunate for me, I bought two of these when they were on-sale several months ago.
Thought of returning it ,however I have another USB 3 cable that works just fine. If only the manufacturers replace the USB cable alone.

Died after 2.5 years of use. Not sure if that's good or not, just a fact. Had it connected to my router as a backup drive. Now I can't even access any of the files on it. Read morePublished 9 months ago by T. Rod
