We've had several of these flower box holders on our back porch for years, and they've proven better than any similar product I've come across. They are sturdy and have stood up to the elements quite well. They expand easily, so it's a snap to swap out planter boxes of varying sizes, which can be handy. And they're made in the USA! Would buy again - and have.

After searching many, many places, including online, for something to fit on our very narrow (under 2") balcony railing, I found these (in black) at our local Home Depot.

I am not usually one to bother writing reviews (unless it's to warn people off of badly designed products), but this item was just SO perfect, SO well made, and made a HUGE difference on our balcony!

It's very well constructed - you can tell it's sturdy and is holding our dirt and flower filled boxes with no sag.

It really does adjust to many lengths of boxes, and in a way that doesn't make it difficult or ugly (just slides open as much as you need it, and fits tight against the box sides).

As I said, it fits our very narrow railing with no additional padding needed, and doesn't sag or look like it's going to slip at all (and was very easy to adjust and set up).

The best part? It has a bumper along the back (at the bottom) so the box hangs PERFECTLY LEVEL with the railing! Honestly, I can't tell you what a bonus this is - many, many, MANY of the lesser models don't have this, and then you have to put a piece of wood or something behind it, so dirt and plants don't fall out of the box.

I can't say enough good things about this - it just WORKED perfectly, right off the shelf!

I use this over the wood railing on my patio and it holds up a very heavy flowerbox without sagging or feeling like it might tip over (which the cheaper versions of holders do).
