From the Introduction: So you've decided to adopt a child. Congratulations! Before you know it there will be one (or more) new people in your life. This is an exciting time for you and your family. But it's also a scary and a confusing time. What sort of adoption is right for you? What sort of adoption will be best for your child? Do you want to adopt domestically or from abroad? Should you use an agency or not? How about the question of open versus confidential adoptions? The choices can seem overwhelming. Once you've decided on the type of adoption, what do you do next? What are the steps involved in making your dreams of a child become a reality? Where do you start? What do you need to do and how should you do it? How do you even begin to approach all that paperwork? And the homestudy-is it really a "white glove" inspection? This book is a beginner's guide to adopting a child. Its purpose is to demystify the entire process, from beginning to end. It contains the basic facts that you need to make appropriate decisions and start you on the path to adopting the child that you want. Good luck!

This review is from: ADOPTING: The Tapestry Guide (Paperback)
There are lots and LOTS of "how to" books on the market if you're looking for imformation on adoption. ADOPTING: The Tapestry Guide eliminates the verbage and keeps the basics short and simple. Readers will appreciate Wallmark's "Joe Friday" approach --- "Just the facts, m'am. Just the facts."
