Sprayed myself in the face with this, spent about thirty minutes on the ground in the fetal position as a result. Does not shoot as far as traditional sprays (only about five feet before gravity starts to take over). Covert for people giving it a casual glance, but it's much bigger than a normal pen. Anyone staring at it long enough will ask questions (ie. going through a security checkpoint). Also, after about two months the paint started fading. At this point nobody would think it were a real pen.

I'm satisfied with this product. It's normal pen length and just a little fatter than a normal pen, so it easily passes for a real pen or marker. It has a nice groove on the top so that you can feel that you're pointing it the right way in the dark, which reassures me that I won't accidentally spray myself in the face if I need to discharge it. I like that it's so compact and unrecognizable; I can easily carry it around in a small pocket in my purse and pull it out while digging for other things without anyone recognizing what it is. Nice product.

Let first start off by saying this pen has a good size and a great price. So I guess something had to give. The cheaper materials used in the construction of this device makes the cap hard to pull off. So while asking my assailant to hold while I pull the cap off my pepper spray seem practical it is not. I think I lose the surprise that this small device gives me messy with a bent cap
