I agree with the prior review that the company (AES Industries) needs to advertise the size of hog rings the pliers can accommodate. With that being said, we use 3/8" galvanized steel hog rings for our application which is to fuse fireworks together. So, it can handle 3/8" and easily 1/2" rings. Looks too small for 1" rings.

These are the best hog ring pliers I've ever owned, hands down, and I've used several types. They are solidly built, the spring loaded handles hold the hog rings firmly in place so they don't fall out, yet the springs are light enough that it is very easy to open the pliers to load hog rings. They squeeze easily with minimal effort which will help avoid blisters from forming in the palms of your hands when using this devise. In college, I used to build blue crab traps and these plies would work perfectly for small crab trap devises or to fuse green visco fireworks fuse together. I would recommend these, excellent product.

The pliers seem to be a decent tool, it's the description that's the problem. The size and type of hog rings for which they are designed is not mentioned in the description. We had to return six pairs when we found they were too small to accommodate 10mm round hog rings.
