I suffer from leg swelling, and in particular while flying it can be quite a trial as my feet will swell to the point where I can't get my shoes on. These compression socks are comfortable and manage my swelling unbelievably well. I have bought several different brands over the years, and these are the best. They look like dress socks, they hold up to repeated washings and they retain their elasticity longer than other brands. While I consider these socks to be on the expensive end, I found that others simply do not deliver. If you travel or require functional dress socks that help you manage swelling, these are the ones for you.

I wear the Men's X-Large "over the calf" model of these socks, and have them in Navy & Brown. These are an excellent value, more so than the Jobst X-Large Knee High [Catalog number 115091 in XL Black] which I also have. In fact, these two compression socks are very similar, particularly in weave pattern [narrow ribbed dress socks] and apparent thread diameter/fabric weight [a pair of new XL Aetrex weighs about 2.7 ounces; a pair of new XL Jobst weighs about 3.1 ounces. The Aetrex is about 10 dollars less expensive, per pair.

According to the box, the Aetrex is 78% nylon, 11% Cupron [poylester with Copper embedded] and 11% Lycra/Spandex. The Jobst are 73% Nylon and 27% Spandex.

I wear an 11.5 4E sized shoe, and the Aetrex has more room in the foot portion of the sock, particularly the toe-box. I am not tall [at 5' 8"], but the Aetrex is also longer in the calf than the Jobst. Both have articulated heels. So, when donning the Aetrex, after pulling on the foot portion of the sock, I use only a moderate force to pull-up the calf portion [otherwise, I'll have excess material at the knee]. This procedure is also written on the box. If you're a tall person, you might prefer the Aetrex over the Jobst/115091 because of the longer calf length.

My feet don't really sweat, so I don't know if the "copper sole" technology is what it's cracked up to be [it's supposed to stop odors & kill bacteria/fungi]. I do think that the Aetrex's advertised 20-25mm of compression is indistinguishable to me to Jobst's advertised 20-30mm Hg.

I do like Jobst, as my very favorite "compression socks" are the Men's X-Large Knee High [Catalog 113119 in Black XL], known as the Men's "Casual".

These are the greatest support hose ever. I would advise a the Jobst® Stocking Donner for ease in putting them on.

I wanted to try these because they are much less than the ones I can get at the med supply store in my area. Not only are they less money but they are a much better sock.

Unable to pull socks over foot area and up over calf - my shoe size is 11.5 - purchased larger size 12.5 - and opening is too/too small,
I am not able to work socks over my foot and up my leg - only once was I able to get socks on after 1/2 hour of pulling per foot
to wear one day since purchase - My rating is five 00000 for the product - do not purchase this brand of socks -
I would like to return them for a full refund. I will now have to research others brands and purchase socks that work -
Please ask a customer service person to call 713-461-1117 Don Crumpler

I have gone back for 4 more pairs after 2 months of use. My husband has identified these as the single best purchase we have made to reduce swelling in his ankles/feet and calves.
