What To Do With All These Rods and Reels?,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: AFI 41031 Poly Fishing Rod Holder (Sports)
A pontoon boat is a great platform to fishing from, especially if there are a number of people fishing, but where do you put all the rods and reels? I bought eight of the Poly Fishing Rod Holders from Amazon. Using left-over aluminum frame tubes (1 1/4") from a old pontoon boat bimini top, I cut four straight sections, about 20" long. Taking two of the tubes, I mounted four rod holders at even spacings using stainless steel sheet metal screws, thought the holes in the back of the rod holders and into the aluminum tubes. Securing the screws tightly created a ridge rack of rod holders. I repeated the process again to build a second rack. I then put industrial strength double-faced tape on the back side of the aluminum tubes. The double-faced tape allowed for a strong bond to any of the sheet metal surfaces on the pontoon boat. When done, I had two custom fit rod holders for my pontoon boat and no more piles of tangled up poles to deal with. The rod holders work great and as usual, buying the rod holders was easy and quick going through Amazon.
