Book Description

March 25, 2005
ELIMINATE THE RIDICULOUS NOISE AND CONFUSION OF THE DIET INDUSTRY AND FIND YOUR PATH TO PERMANENT WEIGHT LOSS Have you been dieting forever, and feeling guilty, inadequate and maybe even hopeless because you're not getting any thinner - and maybe fatter - or because your weight fluctuates more often than the price of gasoline? IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT! I finally figured that out seven years ago when I stopped believing all the hype and found my own path to permanent weight loss. It's simple (not easy, magical or miraculous) and it works for women with the lifestyle, time constraints, responsibilities and stresses that most of us share. Women like you. Women like me.Against the Grain is about tossing all the hype and replacing it with practical, considered common sense based on your lifestyle and your relationship with food. Against the Grain will do for you what no other diet, theory or plan has ever done -lose excess weight and maintain it without being hungry, without temptation or nasty cravings and without feeling deprived. Against the Grain is about to change your life!

3.0 out of 5 stars On to Something, January 15, 2009
This review is from: AGAINST THE GRAIN: Free Yourself From Flour and Lose Weight Permanently (Paperback)
This book really is okay! I came to it by researching Alkaline diet and think this book has a good part of the picture for gaining health. The writing isn't polished - it's like something that i would write! - but i think the author has found one of the major keys to losing weight and gaining health ( i'm more of a purest and believe that you cant eat meat and be healthy) wish more people would wake up and see what flour is doing to their bodies - i've lost 45 pounds in 6 months and one of the major things that i've done is taking flour out of my diet( actually i've taken all grains out) and guess what my skin has cleared and my asthma has all but disapeared!(i've had it my whole life and was on medications for it!) give this a try - and see what it can do for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, easy and embracing!, August 5, 2007
This review is from: AGAINST THE GRAIN: Free Yourself From Flour and Lose Weight Permanently (Paperback)
For someone who feels so overpowered and controled by high fat-high carb foods, I can totally relate to what the author says about staying away from flour. Although I probably will never totaly give up grains that are heathy, I feel inspired by this read. Definately a keeper.
