Purchased these last minute for my grandboys birthday. Just wanted to add one more thing. These wound up being the hit of the party and their #1 gift. Who would have known. My daughter said they work great and have a good range. No problems with these. A sure-fire hit. I would recommend these to anyone.

Read the reviews. Was hesitant; used at local theme park and worked GREAT! The chargers are working and they lasted around 4 hours. The range was good and clarity was good and even better with the headset (wired) that came with them. Overall...very satisfied and would recommend!

Bought two sets to let my kids ride their bikes around the neighborhood -- while staying in touch with "home base" should anyone fall or need help. They work well around the house and backyard, but don't do well past 1/2 mile which is disappointing. The specifications say:

-Up to 6km Communication Range

That said, the kids love them for spy games and while they aren't perfect for communicating, they enjoy playing with them.

If you pay less than 50$, they are worth it. They are good for short distance
fit good on the wrist and they are a fun little toy to play with.
This is what kids used to dream about in the 50-70's. Wow just like dick Tracey.
Now the technology is here and all kinds of little gadgets are available. Sure
most walkie talkie are better than these...but for what they are ...there worth it.

I bought these for me & my 7 year old son to wear so he could go up the street 3 houses to play baseball in the neighbors yard. Rather than going up there every 15 minutes to check on him (which embarrasses him) or have him come home to check in (which he forgets to do), he just wears one of the watches and I can check in anytime, they work great! And since he's wearing it, I know that he can hear me no matter what he's doing and it gives him a little bit of independence to play with the neighbors in their yard with the rest of the kids and I'm not worried. They hold a charge FOREVER and since the neighbors house is only 3 houses down, range is not an issue, we've not had a problem. The only thing that happens is he talks to close and fast into the watch and he's hard to understand sometimes. We love these walkie talkie watches, they're great! Well worth the $.

This actually deserves zero stars. I bought this to use on a cruise ship. I expected that I may not get great reception and also get interference from others, which we did. However, I did not expect that one of the watches would just stop charging and that we would be able to set them to only one channel. I'd return these but I'm missing the box. I am beyond disappointed. I wish I had just gotten the regular hand-helds. I would've saved money and had a product that worked.

I bought these walkie-talkies for my friend's 4-1/2 year old son. I thought they might be too complicated, but I was wrong. After about 3 minutes of basic instruction, his son and his 3 year old daughter were using them around the house and yard and having a blast. He has since told me they work very clearly up to about a mile away in a dense residential neighborhood. He's an ardent mountain biker, and he can't wait to take the kids on the trails with these. They've already been dropped a bunch of times and keep working fine.

I looked at about 30 different kids' walkie talkies and they all looked like pure garbage, got awful reviews and cost outrageous amounts of money. Its sickening what these greedy scum corporations charge for kid's toys made in China for about 45 cents. This product got great reviews and they were on the money. Good product, easy-to-recharge batteries last about 5 hours; and who doesn't want a wristwatch walkie talkie, seriously? The only caveat is that they are pretty big and lunky on a small child's wrist, but that doesn't affect functionality and its a minor issue because they'll grow into them in a couple years. Headsets were decent, but who wants to use a headset when you can talk into your wrist? Although it might come in handy for the mountain biking.

We purchased these to communicate around our business. When used on their own, the range breaks down within the building. However, when combined with some stronger, hand-held units, these make a great radio. These use only the standard radio channels, not utilizing the security filters found on other radios.
If you're looking for a convenient solution to cover short ranges, these are what you need. That is the reason we chose them.

I bought 4 of these back in 2003 when they were on sale for $14.99 at local Fry's. They sure are fascinating gadgets getting a lot of curious onlookers. Worked great for short range < 1/2 miles with good sound quality. As I recalled, one charge can last upto 6 hrs at the beginning, but the battery couldn't charge by end of 2009. Tried to get replacement batteries, but they cost almost as much as a new unit, so I've been looking around for some deals on next purchase. Keep in mind that these are not waterproof. 2 units stopped working after the kids got splashed playing water games (not even submerged). I've also owned several sets of hand held walkie-talkies in the past years but haven't found any that can reach range over 1mile. So disregard the range specs for new models, unless you can buy the pro models at much higher price range.

These wristwatch walkie talkies are great! We have four children and we use these all the time to go camping. They have a large radius so we can communicate with each other anywhere in the campground. We love the wrist watch concept. They aren't as easy to loose as the handhelds. The walkie talkies being on their wrists also enables them to be very active without having to carry around anything. The kids love them.
