Very Good for a Micro,

I have purchased a few micro heli's and ths is the best one overall that I have seen thus far. It is a 3-channel, which allows for up/down, spin left/right and forward/back movement. Like all micro copters, it is FRAGILE and must be used INDOORS, preferably on carpet. That being said, this copter is very resilient. The body is made of rather flexable plastic and the rotors are only semi-ridged, allowing it to withstand crashes pretty well. It charges in 15-20 minutes and will fly for about 5 min, which is average. It's forward movement is much faster than my other 3-ch micros and the body details look great. One thing to note, the description does not include the dimensions - this is a MICRO, so it's about 5 inches in length, kinda pricey for a micro

This toy is much more durable then I had expected when I bought it. It's also a great toy for people who are beginners in this hobby. Although it doesn't go very fast, it is great for indoor flight, or even outdoor flight in very light weather conditions. I can't rate this toy highly enough.

Good helicopter, but make sure you have a lot of space (and spare blades)!,

This is a great first helicopter, but the blades are made of a very soft plastic, so it's a good idea to get a spare set (either here on Amazon or from [...]). Mine are pretty chewed up. It's not terribly durable, but it survived a 30 foot drop on my second flight. I took off and was trimming it up, and it drifted over the neighbor's yard, then higher as I tried to get it to come back. It drifted over rooftops and over five houses as I fought to get it to return, heart in my mouth. After it passed some power lines, it lost the signal and dropped onto the middle of a main road. Thankfully no one ran over it, as I retrieved it from the middle turn lane. It had some broken parts internally, but nothing major, and it still functions! Lesson learned: take it to a park (or keep it low)!

I got this for my b/f for xmas. He LOVES it! The only problem is that we don't have enough space in our apt. for him to really fly it. He did break one of the blades very easily but the replacement blades are really cheap and came quickly.

My 10 year old son loved this helicopter and was able to learn to fly it pretty easily. Unfortunately, the third time we took it to the park, it landed in the grass at an angle and broke. I don't recommend it.

This is a great helicopter for older teens and adults. I would recommend buying the training gear set and extra rotor blades. You will get hooked on RC helicopter the first time you fly. The vendor is very good but could add more parts to their store.

Right out of the box this was piece of junk. It looked cheap, was not easy to fly, and broke after only about 5 minutes to total use. Do yourself a favor and buy the syma s108g cobra, a fantastic helicopter!

I have a Air Hogs Havoc Heli, and I have this chopper as well. Now this is a great chopper, it is very responsive and it offers more functionality than the Air Hogs. It can hover in place and even go backwards, but there is one problem that would have been a deal breaker for me if I knew it. The flight time is very short. I timed mine right after a full charge. I clocked it at just over 3 minutes, this is 7-12 minutes less than the Air Hogs. Personally I feel that 3 minutes of flight time is not worth the 20 minutes of charge time. Now I found a fix for this, but it requires you knowing how to disassemble the chopper and how to use a soldering iron. You also need a havoc heli lying around. The havoc heli battery is bigger than the sayma chopper, if you take both of them apart and desolder the batteries, then swap them (note that the sayma battery wont fit in the havoc heli, but the havoc heli battery will fit in the sayma). I have increased the flight time from 3 minutes to 10 minutes. Well worth the fix. Now I am a electronics engineer so I know how to handle these things. Please be careful if you are considering this fix, LI-PO batteries are harmful and even toxic if cracked open, and can even be explosive if heated up enough. Adult supervision is highly recommended for this fix, do not under estimate the hazards of these batteries. If you have any doubts please just leave it alone, I dont need amazon comming at me because some kid got hurt trying to swap batteries because he read it in my review. Other than the low battery life this is a pretty fun chopper. I would not make this the first chopper for somebody because this can be alittle troublesome trying to learn if you do not have the fundamentals for chopper flying. I recommend the Havoc Heli as the first heli because it is more simple to fly and to learn off of, mainly because the trimming control is easier on the havoc heli, and the havoc heli only has throttle and left and right.

I've had a couple of helicopters, and I've flown a few, from Air Hogs and others - all in the $20 - $100 range, and this little guy is awesome fun. This review is for the syma AH-64 3-d li-po batter r/c helicopter.
The test of any r/c helicopter to me is a) how well does it hover? b) how controllable is it? and c) how fragile is it? Well, for a, it doesn't hover brilliantly well. It spins a lot, and no amount of trimming ever seems to get it to hold its place for more than a split second. It stays at the same altitude sometimes for seconds at a time, but it's tough to get it to hold yaw. It just won't hold station (and I'm indoors now, not even attempting outdoors!) for very long. For b, naturally if it won't stay in the same position very well, it's pretty tough to control. I've been trying for a few days now to get it to land on a box in the middle of the room where it took off. I'm no R/C master, but it's pretty danged hard! I haven't really done it to my satisfaction yet. But, for zooming around the room, it's pretty fun! Which leads to c - it's not that fragile, as these things go. I've had flying r/c toys that were less fragile, but overall, for the detail of the model and so on this little bug is fun! It LOOKS awesome! It's very cool! It has these cool flashing lights and it really is fun to watch it whiz around the room. In order to get a better r/c chopper, you have to spend at least 2 - 3 times more. I know you can get a really fantastic indoor rtf r/c helicopter for around $100 - and if you want something utterly controllable and a great R/C toy - that's the way to go. If you want to spend $40 or less, I don't think this little guy can be beat! I see there now selling here some places for $20, and that's a heckuva deal! This thing is fun. Definitely recommend it for somebody who doesn't want a serious R/C Heli. =) |
