AH!Laska Organic Chocolate Syrup IS BETTER than the alternaives. It's not only better for you, but it also tastes better and has a thicker texture too. The ingredients speak for themselves...

AH!Laska Organic Chocolate Syrup:

Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Water, Organic Cocoa (Non-Alkaline), Xanthan Gum (a Natural Fiber Thickener), Organic Vanilla, Citric Acid.

H**shey's Syrup:

High Fructose Corn Syrup , Sugar , Water , Corn Syrup , Cocoa , Potassium Sorbate A Preservative , Salt , Mono- And Diglycerides From Vegetable Oil , Polysorbate 60 An Emulsifier , Xanthan Gum , Vanillin An Artificial Flavoring

I know what I would rather have my family consume. No brainer. AH!Laska Organic Chocolate Syrup is just better and so good! Please continue to keep this in stock, Amazon!!!

I had been using Monin Dark Chocolate and love and flavor. Just for variety I ordered some AhLaska. What a mistake! AhLaska is way too sweet and it has some kind of odd overtone in the flavor. Sorry to say, it is at the point that it ruins anything that I put it on. So I'm giving up on the AhLaska and going back to Monin.

To help you decide whether my review relates to you, I'll tell you about my taste preferences. I like dark chocolate, not on the sweet side. I like my coffee and tea with no sugar. When it comes to ice cream, I like just about anything that's high quality and well balanced. Vanilla, chocolate, fruits and nuts are all great for me.

I hope this helps you with your selections. Bon Appetit.

This is a very tasty product which is all natural and avoids high fructose corn syrup. Nice alternative.

If you are looking for a good replacement for corn-syrup filled chocolate syrups this is the way to go.

I have loved chocolate milk my entire life and bought this immediately when I found it in a local store. I was impressed with the simple ingredient list and that it is organic... but I was concerned that it wouldn't taste as good as the Hershey's syrup that I've happily used for years. For comparison, I made two glasses of chocolate milk - one with AH!Laska and one with Hershey's. Wow - the difference was unbelievable! The AH!Laska syrup makes THE BEST chocolate milk ever! The taste is oh so good... so smooth and rich. The chocolate milk made with Hershey's now tasted weird and even grainy to me compared to the chocolate milk made with the AH!Laska syrup. Sorry Hershey's... I am totally in love with AH!Laska syrup and will not be coming back.

I was a bit mixed on whether to order this due to the inconsistency of the reviews. I wanted to part with the high fructose corn syrup Hershey product so I gave it a try. Excellent. Mixed well into milk for my chocolate milk kid and worked great on ice cream. I am sold and there is no going back.

This is great on ice cream and other desserts, and I especially like making chocolate drinks with this syrup. One of my favorites is called NEW YORK EGG CREAM (though no eggs are used):
syrup, seltzer and almond milk measured and mixed together in proportion to the taste one prefers.

We are each unique so food can taste differently to people. We also each have our own taste preferences. I like a sweet chocolate taste and this syrup is fine for me.

The Ingredients on the bottle vary slightly from this product page. The bottle lists:
Organic Cane syrup, Water, Organic Cocoa (Non-alkaline), Xanthan Gum (A Natural Fiber Thickener), Citric Acid, Organic Vanilla.

The bottle also says:
Organic, 100% dairy-free, gluten-free, peanut free, tree nut free, cholesterol free, sodium-free, fat free.

I make a no-cook meal size chewy chocolate oatmeal cookie. This is my original recipe. Mix 38 grams of AH!LASKA chocolate syrup with 114 grams of water (152 grams of total liquid - mix well and tilt the 1 quart bowl from all sides to make sure there is no unmixed syrup on the bottom) and then add 132 grams of processed organic quick rolled oats (processed in my 11 cup DLC-8S Cuisinart food processor for 2 minutes and 40 seconds with the metal S blade), mix thoroughly and form a cookie (it usually takes 3-5 minutes to form a thick cookie (or cake) - starts thickening in about 2-4 minutes - in the first 1-2 minutes, start forming a ball on the side of the bowl and maybe work it for a few minutes - at 3-3 1/2 minutes it should be firm enough to lift it up and form the cookie in the middle of the bowl), once a 3/4"-1 inch cookie is formed, let stand 1 hour and 30 minutes (in a closed, but turned off microwave) and then you get a nice meal size chewy oatmeal chocolate cookie and no cooking required. If the cake is too firm, just add more water next time, perhaps 1-5 extra grams of water (115-119 grams of water plus 38 grams of chocolate syrup equals 153-157 grams of total liquid). Let the cookie stand 1 hour and 45 minutes if you go with 157 grams of total liquid - 119 grams of water plus 38 grams of chocolate syrup - the more total liquid, the longer stand time). You can obviously go higher on the liquid (maybe another 5 grams of water, 158-162 grams of total liquid), but at some point it might increase the glycemic index and your dental plaque. I am currently using 38 grams of chocolate syrup with 122 grams of water (160 total liquid - 132 grams of processed oats - takes 2-6 minutes to form a cookie) and I let the oat cookie stand and thicken for 2 hours and 10 minutes.Read more ›
