This review is from: HIV/AIDS in South Africa (Paperback)
This text was recommended to me by the program director as desirable background reading prior to beginning my NIH fellowship. As its title suggests, this book makes takes the South African experience as the lens through which it examines HIV/AIDS, and all epidemiological data draws from that nation. However, any would-be reader who is seeking specific background knowledge of the science, medicine, and social processes relating to the HIV/AIDS pandemic will be greatly rewarded by perusal of this volume: an authoritative and definitive text on the subject, relating to the reader the latest science in a formal, yet readable style.
