Received the laser bore sighter fast but sighting the scope may take forever because the laser bore sighter does not point the laser beam straight. Every time I placed the laser bore sighter in the chamber the laser beam pointed at different locations (as much as 12" from previous location). I placed the laser bore sighter on a V-groove pointing at a wall about eight feet away and rotate the bore sighter slowly and watch the laser beam rotates in a two inch circle pattern ( it should be just a single point). I may have gotten a defective laser bore sighter but if you use one of these, U should do a simple test before wasting a lot of ammos in the range.

Works great right out of the box. It's a perfect fit for my bolt action .308 rifle and the thread at the end allows the extractor to pull it back out of the chamber when I'm done. One star off because, as others have noted, it comes in a not-very-fancy plastic ziploc bag. And I wouldn't claim the precision is on the level of higher-end models. But, while I wouldn't recommend it as a gift for someone, it certainly did the job for me.

Great price, great shipping, but it doesn't work. If you press a safety pin down the front were the laser is, and hold it, it will come on. So its not the batteries. Not sure what is wrong with it. I wish it would work. My Husband was very disappointed Christmas morning.. :(

The bore sighter fit into the chamber acceptably after I added a little petroleum jelly to improve the fit. The laser is bright enough and I was able to sight the scope in well enough to get the shot onto the target at about 100 yards, which is what the bore sighter is supposed to do.

The product shipped fast, was what I needed, but came in a clear plastic bag, and dead battery's. In all fairness I did not contact the seller. Used other battery's, and the product worked fine.

This is a great product for the amount of money you pay for it. I bought it as a present for my husband and he says it is better than the bore sights that fit down in the barrel. Easy use and long range for the sight.

first off, the actual diameter of this is .308win
so it chambered perfectly in my 308 bolt action rifle.

it says it can fit other diameters, but i highly doubt it.
works great in my 308, so it gets 5 stars.

I bought this for my 2010 Savage Edge 308 Rifle. It was worthless. First, the batteries were dead on arival. I ordered some batteries off ebay for like $4 and I have to wait another week for that to arrive. You put them in and there you go. Problem is, they only have about 30 seconds of strong laser power. If you need to sight it in you got to be super quick and get that in the rifle and adjusting at 20 yards. Pretty difficult since the threads on the back are flawed and it is difficult to screw the back cap back on. I was able to get the 20 yards done. However, the batteries were already dead. I put in the next set and try to aim out further and I sighted it in at 38 yards and the laser was barely visible. Next, I try for 100 yards with a fresh set of batteries. The laser does not have the power at 100 yards to be visible. Now you might be thinking it is my scope. Nope, I removed the junk $20-$30 scope they put on my rifle and I installed a $300 Nikon Monarch 3x9-40 scope. I was also aiming at my neighbor's shed since it was a nice light gray surface so it was not like I was aiming at a small target where the laser might be hiding in the grass or something. So, I was not able to sight out my rifle to 100 yards. I should be good at the 38 yards or so right? Nope. I go up to my uncle's and fire a shot. I completely missed the target. Luckily he has a better bore sight where it attaches to the end of my rifle. After an hour or so of tinkering with the sight and test shots we get it sighted in. Just for giggles I plug in this bore sighter and install a set of batteries (good thing I bought the 20 pack) and the laser is not even close to being centered on the target. It is off to the left and bottom by a good 5" from 20 yards. Long story short this laser stinks. It fires the laser in the general direction, but either the bullet shape is too small or the laser is off. Whoever designed it made it a battery hog as well as underpowered. Save your money and buy something else. Get something that attaches to the end of the barrel that runs on either real batteries or has an attachments where you can measure the distance and elevation from a little target attachment at the end of your gun.

Be sure to close bolt SLOWLY on cartridge for proper alignment.
