5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to instal
Easier than I thought it would be. I removed the rear sight pin, sight, and spring. Then I mounted the rail on and adjusted the screws for level. Done. It took longer to find the tools to remove the rear sight.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Engineered
I have a Mosin 91/30. I was looking for a mount that would not require me to permanently alter the sights, I like to shoot iron sights every now and then. This was the only option that I could find. 1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Engineered, August 18, 2011
This review is from: AIM Sports 4/Mosin Nagant91 Scope Mount Rail (Misc.)
I have a Mosin 91/30. I was looking for a mount that would not require me to permanently alter the sights, I like to shoot iron sights every now and then. This was the only option that I could find. So, despite all of the negative reviews, I bought this anyway. While installing it, I noticed that the base of the mount was not at wide at the slot that it was fitting into, which could potentially screw up your wind-age every time you shoot. That worry was confirmed once I had it installed. With a red dot sight and laser bore sight installed, one tiny bump of the rail pushes it way off zero. I figured that I would just fill the space with some JB weld (permanent I know, but I like my reflex sight) but when I tried to remove the mount, the heads of the screws sheered right off. After drilling it off I promptly reinstalled the leaf sight. This product was a great idea that was poorly engineered and made with weak materials. I am going to try to drill out the screw holes and mount it with the pin from the leaf sight and then put some JB Weld on the sides to keep it in place. I don't have high hopes though. After trying this product, I am convinced that most reviews are written by people who are employed by the manufacturers of the products that they are reviewing. Otherwise, I just can't see how anyone can give this product a good review.

4.0 out of 5 stars mosin nagant M91-30 scope mount, February 23, 2011
This review is from: AIM Sports 4/Mosin Nagant91 Scope Mount Rail (Misc.)
This mount works well with the bolt not modified, but will require a scope with long eye relief. I use it with a handgun scope and that works well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk, April 3, 2011
This review is from: AIM Sports 4/Mosin Nagant91 Scope Mount Rail (Misc.)
I think I could have crushed up about three soda cans and that pile of aluminum would make a better rail than this Chinese made piece of junk. And to think I wasted $10 on this rail instead of 10 $1 items at McD's! It installs quickly and easily and that's where the compliments end. The Mosin has a heavy recoil and so the rail should be built accordingly. The three set screws that set the level of the rail work loose after 3 rounds fired. The two STEEL screws that attach the rail to the rear site base stripped out of the ALUMINUM rail. It should have been made with STEEL. STEEL and STEEL work great together...look at the rest of your gun. I hope that future purchasers will read this review and stay away from this waste of money.

3.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..., December 27, 2010

This review is from: AIM Sports 4/Mosin Nagant91 Scope Mount Rail (Misc.)
Aluminum and made in China; would have been better if it were steel. Installed on a M38 and 2ea 91/30's and the only problem was with one of the 91/30's. Had to do some minor filing of the front part of the base to get a good fit. Another thought to make these better would have been to add some shims for the sides. The instructions are useless (very simple). The two aft screws to adjust for elevation zero are as follows: front of the two is for M38 & M44 models and the aft screw is for 91/30. I figured this out by trial and error and found that the aft screw will sit on the barrel of M38's & 44's yet will still be in the rear site assembly of the 91/30. S&K Scope Mounts have far better quality products IMHO and I got exactly what I paid for. Fast shipping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Purchase!, December 4, 2010

This rail fits great! The trickiest part to mounting this scope was actually taking off the leaf-sight. (FYI, the pin holding the leaf sight in is just about 1/8th inch, so you'll need a punch a little smaller than that get get the leaf sight off.) While this deal was nice and cheap, if you don't have punches to get the leaf sight off, I'd recommend getting a kit that has an included punch.

Now back to the rail. It fits nice and snug, and it's easy to level. Once mounted, the rear base of the rail sits approximately 10 inches from the rear of the bolt. Leaving plenty of room for the action to do it's thing.

3.0 out of 5 stars MG mount rail, February 19, 2011
This review is from: AIM Sports 4/Mosin Nagant91 Scope Mount Rail (Misc.)
The rail is long on the far side, I wish it was longer on the back side about 3 more inches. Before I could install it, I had to file off around 1/16 of a inch on the bottom of the flat mount to make sure the two screws would line up on the sight bracket.
I have mounted a scope with a 10 1/2 inch eye relief because of the short distance on the back side of the rail. I left the bolt as is, and have no problems with any contact.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally found a scope mount for my Military rifles, February 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: AIM Sports 4/Mosin Nagant91 Scope Mount Rail (Misc.)
This is a pretty nice mount for a very nice price. It fit my Nagant perfectly and I was even able to modify it with a dremel to fit my Japanese Arisaka. The aluminum is a little soft so be carefull tightening the screws that attatch to the sight pin. Otherwise you could always drill the threads out and us a bolt that passes all the way through. That would give you a rock solid mount. A little loc tite would also be a good idea. Remember, this is a scout mount and will not work without a long eye-relief scope.

I think I will order a couple more for future projects.

2.0 out of 5 stars mosin nagant scout scope mount, January 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: AIM Sports 4/Mosin Nagant91 Scope Mount Rail (Misc.)
You pay for what you get. I have a Finnish mosin, when I removed the rear sight and spring, the gap that the mount fits into was .320". The width of the the mount insert was .490". I had to remove a lot of metal to get it to fit and was lucky to keep it straight. Also the adjustment screws don't fit this sight mount very well. The front screw is too close to the sight pin to stabilize the mount much and the rear screw is only touching the sight base about half way. I haven't tried it yet but I would be suprised if it holds up to recoil.
