5.0 out of 5 stars "Got Some Drinkin' To Do", June 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: YOU AIN'T FOOLIN'ME (Audio CD)
What a voice! Mike Moses is my find of the year! He played the "Blue Note" in Scottsdale a couple nights ago and I was lucky enough to be there and let me tell you there wasn't a person in the club who wasn't foot tappin or dancing when he got to "Got Some Drinkin' To Do" Moses has a diversity in his choices and a warm rugged voice. I found myself reminded of an old song one moment and then listening intently to the lyrics of a yet unknown new tune. Live, I liked Mikes comfort zone, he seemed at home with his style and his talent. I was glad to find that the CD lost none of that, just listen to the recorded version of " It's A Shame" It is Mose's voice that makes these songs work for me, he has me hooked with that gravely whine and warm feel. The musicians on this CD are at their best. The lead guitarist, "Dean Murphy" left nothing to question with some very hot licks..But maybe the one thing that made me a fan is the Harp, I love the harmonica, especially played with such heart. Thank you Harmonica George Pappas. Cadillac Mike Moses I hope you have more where these came from. A Fan in Scottsdale, Pam Daly

5.0 out of 5 stars old times, July 29, 2009
This review is from: YOU AIN'T FOOLIN'ME (Audio CD)
I hung out with Mike in his early days in Kansas City, and actually lived with him and his family when he was cutting his teeth as a road musician with Dallas (God rest his soul)and the rest of the band in Iowa as a teenager. If that was not the best summer of my life, certainly the most memorable, livin' on $.10 Juniors and Burgie in Cedar Rapids...... Back to KC and soon lost track of him until 2005 when I discovered he'd been in Phoenix. Of course I got his CD 'Ain't Foolin' Me'. I am soooo impressed with his voice. Mike's voice is like he lives his life--complete focus on task, and unapologetic fidelity to what he sees as his craft and interpretation. The lead guitar is outstanding as well.

As a younger man, Mike was always incredibly talented and very bright. I can see he has focused these skills on his music across the years. I join a large group of people who wonder why this guy is not very, very famous. Mike is in the company of artists like Lee McBee and LuAnn Barton who are as good as any who ever sang a note.

Way to go Mike!! I'm proud of you......

4.0 out of 5 stars Mike has a Voice as Smooth as a Coupe Deville!, August 16, 2000

I recently had the pleasure of listening to Cadillac Mike's new CD. As a Board Member of the Phoenix Blues Society, I have the opportunity to meet and listen to many musicians. Mike has a one of a kind smooth, sultry voice that you should not miss hearing! Mike is also a very talented composer, he wrote all the songs on the CD. They are a great mix of sultry, as in "Should I Take The Time" humorous, as in "Got Some Drinkin To Do" and hard luck, as in "Sometimes a Man Can't Win." Accompaning Mike on the CD are some of the most talented musicians in Phoenix. With Dean Murphy on lead guitar, Blue Lou Burke on keyboards, Chris Skowron on saxaphone and Harmonica George Pappas on harp, this CD will remain one of my most treasured and one of the most frequently played in my collection. Cadillac Mike left the music business for awhile. We are very lucky he returned! I have only one more thing to say, "Mike, put my order in for your next CD!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Feeling the Blues, August 4, 2000
This review is from: YOU AIN'T FOOLIN'ME (Audio CD)
After hearing this CD I went to see Mike Moses live. I was impressed by the way he sounded just like the CD. Definately a must see performance! The band pulls the music together, but Moses gives it life. Not a bad CD.
