The front of the heels are pretty narrow. Maybe it will loosen up after a couple wears. Otherwise it's comfortable and sturdy. The black color is part patent leather and part suede material.

This is a great shoe. Stylish and comfortable. The first time I wore these was to a funeral - lots of standing - very comfortable and cute!
