Affordable headphones for musicians,

Purchased these at a local store for $45 on sale after doing some research online about headphones to use with a guitar amp for under $100 bucks. These do the trick and sound great for the price. I primarilly use these for late night guitar sessions and have only tried them out once with an MP3 player and the sound quality is good. AKG seem to make very versatile and durable headphones at a good value and I would buy another product from them in the future.I am no audiophile but I wanted cans that would let me hear every note clearly from the guitar amp and these seem to be handling it well. For the musicians, I have a small solid state amp and a larger tube amp in which the AKG's sound exceptional. The cord is long and the frequency response is far better than the older Sony cans I used before these. These are good headphones for under $50 bucks, its n wonder this model has been sround so long.

Good sounding cans for good price,

I bought these for my project studio, and they work well. They have a great sound. They are not amazing, but for what they cost, they are good. I cannot wear them for more than 3 hours. They get uncomfortable and hot. This can be a problem in a long recording or mixing session, but I can deal with it I suppose. I want the AKG702 next. Eventually work up to the Grado. My gear has to be upgraded first.

Well worth the money!,

I bought a pair of these for my computer. I plan on using them for editing movies and I have to say that the sound quality is impressive for this price.
I run them on a headphone amp connected to my external FW-soundcard and they sound great! I'm not sure if they're good looking or so ugly that they start to look good. I've always liked Harman's sound, so I guess this would be well worth the money as well.

Good value for the price, still a little tall for my head even with the headband adjustment,

These headphones have good sound clarity for the price. As a woman, they are actually still a little tall for my head even with the plastic pieces that hold the elastic headband pushed all the way down on either side. I do like the fact that I can wear my glasses with them sometimes without having them mashed into the sides of my head. I definitely never forget I'm wearing these headphones though because they gently squeeze my head, but they're still pretty comfortable as far as closed back headphones go. I guess this is a problem with all headphones that cover your ears fully and are made of "leatherette," but these sometimes make my head sweaty (especially when it's hot in the house). I just cut up an old t-shirt and made little covers for each earphone which works fine. These covers did not muffle the sound and in fact, I think they kind of soften the little hiss that you sometimes hear when listening to certain things at high volume (e.g. low quality concert recordings).
I have used these headphones with my computer, stereo, and to listen to DVDs. In order to have volume control while watching DVDs, I actually have these headphones run through an old Rolls mini-amp and an inexpensive headphone volume controller from RadioShack and they still sound pretty good. The sound is a little tinny on just voices hooked up this way, but the bass still sounds great with music. These headphones come with the 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter which is nice. Overall, I think these are a great value for the price and a little more comfortable than several closed back pairs I've tried of a similar price. I actually bought these at my local GuitarCenter where they were $50, so I wish I had purchased them off Amazon for $40, but overall I'm pleased with what I got for the price.

I have the higher end k240's which are noticeably crisper and better sounding than these. But for the price, these are not a bad headphone...maybe for a client to use or for the VO booth. Not for main mixing but definitely a good secondary set. Also for me akg headphones are the most comfortable for extended wearing times. These k44's are pretty comfortable. I also have a really nice set of Sony's but I can never wear them very long before they get extremely uncomfortable.
