ALEKS for Foundations of Business Math User Guide (Aleks Worktext)

Purchasing a new version of Aleks rather than looking for a deal on eBay is the way to go. The code is only good for a semester, so if you get a used one, it won't work.

The code for Alex User's Guide is not correct for the Elementary and Intermediate Algebra for UOP texbook when purchasing separately. It was not the 2nd edition.

I was scared to order this program at first because of all the negative reviews. I'm glad I went ahead and ordered because the program is exactly what I need and it costs nearly twenty bucks less then my campus bookstore. The access code is valid for one term and it arrived very quickly.

College Students.

When searching for Lab Products and courses with Access Codes, make sure that you search Amazon.com using the ISBN Number and not the Title. That way you are certain that you are getting the correct product. In order to be linked with the course that you are taking, you have to enter the Course Code that your teacher supplies AT THE TIME YOU REGISTER. Anyone can take these courses so if you do not have the course code, you are just basically learning Math on your own. Make sure you Link your product to the course you are taking. ASK QUESTIONS TO YOUR INSTRUCTOR.



Amazon.com. There is no such thing as a Bad Access Code. The students are buying the code, accessing the product and then getting a refund from you.




There is no way that an Access Code purchase is 'No Good'. All it is is a number that you use to Log In to a Web Server to retrieve the lesson. The provider of the service makes the Access Codes and Labs so you are getting the actual product of the Merchant and not something issued by Amazon. Please make sure that you have the right ISBN Number to the Product for the 'specific' class you are taking.



UOP STUDENTS

UOP is an Over Priced Online University and their main priority is for you to purchase your products from UOP. If you go to UOP and are reading this, make doubly sure that you have the correct ISBN before ordering Lab and Digital Educational Codes. Another thing, many Colleges and Universities do not accept UOP Units when you transfer. UOP charges $399 per Unit. Please check your local colleges and Universities, because most of them offer online courses now and if you are a resident of that state, the cost is only $69.50 per Unit. That mean you can Use your Student Grant and Loan money to live off of, as it it intended for.


Your Student Aid money is suppose to allow you the opportunity to live while you go to school.

Please take special notes that Most UOP Units are not transferrable to other colleges and you will end up taking most of your core classes and all of the degree specific classes over again if you want a 'real' degree.

Online degrees are not respected however, if you go to like UNLV and take some or all of your classes online, your degree is not going to say 'online'.

I bought this product used because I thought it was a textbook for my math class. However, I was incredibly wrong. I bought the program for a couple dollars cheaper than the non-used program my school bookstore offered. Now I cannot use this program because it is not under my name and there is no way to change it. Do not purchase this! I'm doing all I can to get my money back!

They sold me a code that is not for the course that I am in and will not do anything about it, So I am supposed to buy two.

I'm sitting here wrapping up my semester with an online learning system called "Aleks." Although it has helped me at times, it has frustrated me more than anything has this entire semester.

This is not the system one should use if they aren't willing to dedicate hours upon hours of their free time to. One of the main problems with Aleks is that after several hours of online work, the system gives you an assessment to "test your knowledge."

Well, I've spent a HUGE portion of my day working on different problems. After I finally felt like I was on a roll, what happened? They gave me an assessment. Really? After I worked my butt off on the material, they are going to test me on it--and if I miss a question, then guess what? They'll make me relearn it. Again. And again. AND AGAIN. I paid almost $90.00 for this. And it won't let up. I just finished an assessment, and here I am, about to be set back because of the system.

Oh, and did I mention that they give timed quizzes? If I recall, I had to take a 35 question quiz in 45 minutes. If you're going to sit through and actually work out the equations and word problems, then this is not enough time.

Besides, I had to take two midterms and a final in addition to the Aleks material... AND the six tests assigned by my college.

Don't ever buy this. Save your money.

I recieved the program very fast. The price was the best I could find.

Down side is you can only use it one time so when I had to drop this class due to family problems it was a total loss now when I take the class again I will have to buy it again LAME :(

The program is very cool for learning though, almost makes you wonder why there is a teacher.

I used Aleks for Beginning Algebra and am using it again for Intermediate Algebra. The program is simple and easy to use. The best part is, if you have already mastered a concept you don't have to re-learn it. The program adapts to you. If you are having issues with fractions, you will be doing bunches of fraction problems. If you already know how to do fractions, you will get 2 or 3 and then you won't get anymore fraction problems.

Very pleased with transaction once the shipping got straighten out. The support staff did a great job and I'm pleased with the transaction.
