This seems to be very durable.

There was a small piece of splintered wood sticking out that could have easily given me or a child a bad splinter.

He isn't a little boy who breaks things and in fact is very good with his toys and books.

I think this is a decent product for the price. It is bright and colorful and fun to mess with. I was concerned about what other reviews said about its durability so when it arrived in the mail I literally tried to pull it apart(and no I'm not weak in the arms) but nothing even came loose. I also dropped it face-down twice on the garage floor by accident and fully expected it to break both times but it held up. Before I felt comfortable leaving it with a child I tested its strength once more and it was fine. One thing about the product is that the blocks spin very easily so younger children may lose interest and just swing them around until they get bored. Also, when it arrived in the mail there was an edge that had lost not only part of its paint but also part of the wood. There was a small piece of splintered wood sticking out that could have easily given me or a child a bad splinter. So it seems that this company may have a few problems with quality control but if you get one that isn't defective, it's a decent toy for the price. I wouldn't leave it around smaller children.

I chose this toy from the Vine Program for my 3 year old nephew to play with when he visits me. I have no children myself and wanted something for him to keep entertained. This was not it. He isn't a little boy who breaks things and in fact is very good with his toys and books.

In the first 5 minutes the base and sides came off and the blocks came loose. We tried to repair it and then decided just to put it back in the box it came in.

I gave him a tablet of paper and a pencil. He was quite happy.

I agree with the reviewers that said that this is a flimsy toy and a choking hazard. My baby was able to take it apart in under an hour--and as others said --there are these tiny washers that went flying. Also, the rods that hold the blocks and spacers are just wooden sticks that could poke your eyes out when disengaged from the toy. Considering that so many other toys on the market teach baby about letters and counting that are probably more fun--my advice is to save your money and buy one of those safer options. Because my wife and I could not return ours, we actually had to reconstruct the toy without the washers and I drilled screws into each wooden stick to re-enforce the toy so the baby couldn't break it again--but I shouldn't have to do that-- the toy should be safe if it's being sold. After all the effort the baby doesn't play with it much anyway!

First of all ... the toy did not live up to my expection. It was poorly made and the letter "L" was upside down and looked like the number seven. The total idea is very good but the construction is not done well. It does not hold up to my three year old grandson. The exchange of the item due to incorrect alphabet was fine as we had to spend time to pack and return it but the replacement was received in a timely manner, which is good.

Ok I'm reading so many reviews about toys and so many negatives then some +. I have little crazy toddlers running around more then one and toys are a dime a dozen. One toy might work for one but not the other. My 3 year old "boy" loves my daughter (2) stroller. LOL. She loves his monster trucks. Well they both love the monster trucks. They love baskets or anything they can haul stuff in at this point. I did buy this product it was on sale for 6.99 + 6.00 bucks for shipping. so i paid 13.00 bucks for this toy. We have sit down time each day (learning hour)I use this and it it's fine. They like it specially my son. I don't let him throw his toys around the house. So yes it's been durable. Bottom line there are better products yes. But for the price.YOu can't beet it.

For the amount of space it takes, this adds nothing. I Gorky for my grandson who loves letters and enjoys playing with ab abacus. This toy is seriously a waste of money.

I bought this toy because I needed an inexpensive toy and when I saw this the first thought in my head was "hey- no pieces to pick up" so I bought it. And yes, the no pieces to pick up is amazing. Doesn't seem to keep 18month olds interest as much as other toys (ones with pieces and one of those cube things) but at the same time he can't seem to walk by it without twirling one of the blocks. Worth it for the money, and for the "no pieces to pick up" value. But more of a toy that you need to engage your child in rather than one that will entertain him without your interaction. Very educational. I would recommend this.

My soon to be 2-year old can be very destructive. This seems to be very durable. I like the wooden toys, so this was a great buy for us. The pictures painted on each block are very cute.
