It is a tumbling mat which I actually think is perfect for the baby/toddler and young child!

Within an hour of this being played with, the cheap plastic material this is made with had a hole in it and one of the handles was beginning to tear off.
Nate
It's lightweight so it would be easy for kids to get out and put away by themselves and it's divided into sections, so it folds up easily.

We bought two of these mats last Christmas. We used one for playing on (we have tile floors) and one as a safety net under my son's crib. Less than a year later the top layer is peeling off and the handles have torn off. This is not a sturdy mat. I am very disappointed in the quality. I am in search of a better quality mat as we are now using the mats for physical therapy. It is unpleasant to have pieces of the mat stuck to your child as she rolls or moves across the mat.

I would not recommend this mat for any tumbling. The surface is too slippery for the child to maintain any traction. The mat is also NOT soft. The top 1/2 inch is soft, BUT the backing is a hard cardboard that makes the mat to hard for tumbling. I could see this mat being useful for a baby or toddler for safety, but nothing past that. My daughter is in gymnastics, and this mat was useless. My daughter was barely 4yrs old when I purchased the mat and weighed 35 pounds (if that). She couldn't even hold her bridge on it - her feet kept slipping out from under her. She could only do a couple forward or backward rolls before her head was sore.

I have not had any issues with the durability. She has used it for other purposes (doing roundoffs and cartwheels over it when folded - as a place holder). She used it as a slide off the couch, and other imaginative ways. I have gotten my money's worth in that respect. It has been used and abused over the last year or so and has held up well. It just cannot be used for tumbling, gymnastics or cheerleading.

The mat was just what I expected. Bright colors, large and thick. The only downside is that the material is not very durable. It is a blend of carton and plastic. It sticks to the bare skin as if it had glue residue. Nevertheless, it works great for my 10 mo old (although it may not last long).

Loved the mat. Have had mat for just under a year. Used on hardwood floor as soft surface for baby to play until it started peeling. The cute star pattern is coming up in big chunks. Baby likes to pull them off. Have to retire mat.

We bought this mat as a play area for our 6-month old. It's perfect -- it's light weight and easy to store. The mat is large enough that our son can roll around, fall over, try to crawl and do baby yoga (unintentionally) without injury. This is great for city living and if you have hardwood floors. We use it every day and fold it up at night.

I bought this mat for our toddler since we have hardwood flooring it was nice to have our daughter have playtime on the mat. The only complaint is that it is poorly made, the material is thin and we have noticed after only having it 9 months that the material itself tears, which could be a potential choking hazzard for any child under 3 years of age. I suggest a more durable mat.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
We are using this mat for basic tumbling moves with our 3 yr old and as a "safety" pad for our 8 month old who is learning to stand and cruise. We have hard floors so some padding for our baby is essential during this phase. We have set up a baby fence (with extension) around it North States Superyard Ultimate Play Yard, Ivory. It keeps our little one contained on the pad and gives him something to pull up on while he rolls, plops, crawls and cruises.

This is a big firm pad. This would also be great for doing any kind of floor exercises or yoga for people who need more padding or more space on their mat.

Thanks for reading, I hope this review is helpful!

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This isn't a thick and cushioned mat like I had expected. It is actually quite firm. The plastic cover doesn't seem like it will hold up with repeated use. Ours has a few small tears after just a month of use. There is also a hard (metal maybe) spot in one of the folds that can be felt through the cover. I'm concerned this might be a safety issue. We don't use it for tumbling or active play. It is mainly a place to sit on the floor for stories and cuddles. Love the idea of this mat, but execution fell very short.

In case it isn't clear, this isn't a toy I can recommend unless the company does some serious improvements.
