Good Butter Dish
Butter dish size is ample and will probably hold both common sizes of US butter. The style is nice. The crispness of the facets is low. I am inclined to say that it was not cut, however I can see no mold marks either.

Broken butter dish
The Alexandria 8 inch butter dish I purchased had a short life. I believe I got one that had a flaw. Intended to use it on Thanksgiving but it did not make it to the table. After washing and drying I went to lay it on the table and the bottom piece that holds the butter just shattered. Cannot say there is anything wrong with this product, only that there was a flaw...

The Alexandria 8 inch butter dish I purchased had a short life. I believe I got one that had a flaw. Intended to use it on Thanksgiving but it did not make it to the table. sorry to say...it came in great shape, and looks just like the photo...however, it is very heavy and the cover fits so tightly it must be lifted just so to prevent it jamming. I've already chipped it just by trying to lift it off the dish.
