I know they're expensive but I just feel like the air feels cleaner... might be psychological ;)What I try to do is at the beginning and end of a season, if we haven't used the heat/AC much, is use a crappy 4$ filter to absorb all the dust and detritus accumulated in the system.... maybe do that for a week of cycling.... THEN I put one of these puppies in for the long haul.... that way I feel I can leave these AllerTech's in for twice or thrice as long (6+ months?) I guess if you run your system frequently or are diligent about rotating your filters, then your mileage will vary. I like this material and I like the airflow. I don't know much about the science behind it but I'll continue to buy these until I decide to cheap out again. Maybe the ideal is to rotate between these and the cheapos depending on the season. I say give it a splurge and see what you think!

These filters are well worth the money. They not only clean the air coming through the furnace but hold it even when dirty. I change them every three months and we have a wood burner that we use so some soot gets in the air. No matter how much dust, soot is on the filter when I remove it, none falls off. Great for allergy suffers like me.
