This is a rather hard to find size for a non-backpacking style tent and is ideal for single (car camping) or two person use (split between two when backpacking or also for car camping). Weighs 9#. It's small enough to fit in a 27" checked bag since I often fly to camp at the national parks. It's easy enough to find a 3 person backpacking tent, but I've found backpacking tents to be difficult to get in and out of and just don't provide the type of ventilation I seem to like. This is a great solution at a great price. The color scheme is not the same as what's in the picture - it's even more pleasing to the eye, blending in nicely with a natural colored background scheme. The picture shown here doesn't show it, but at the bottom of the fly there is a tab midway through to use with a guy line. It helps secure the tent a bit more and the ventilation increases dramatically when used with the guy line. By the same token a guy line isn't necessarily needed if it's getting into autumn and you want to retain more warmth inside. The two door design is great too, esp, with 2 users or if you want to increase the ventilation even more via the windows. With the other 4 guy lines midway up the fly attached I think this could deal with some pretty significant wind gusts with no concerns. The carrying bag easily holds the tent, poles, 10" nail stakes (wrapped carefully in a hand towel to prevent puncturing the tent) and rubber mallet with room to spare for a few large kitchen bags in case you have to take this down in the rain. Sturdy, stable and affordable. A solid 3 season tent.

Much like other tents, the stakes that come with this are a joke and are more like paper clips if you ask me. I'd recommend different stakes such as the 10" nail type that has a separate hole to connect the fly.

We ordered the Alp Tent after seeing the positive reviews. It was purchased for a Week Long Bike Trip of the Blue Ridge Parkway. When we recieved the Tent the first thing we did was Assemble it. It was very easy to put up with the Plastic Hooks instead of the Sleeves for the Rods you normally get on cheaper Tents. Once erect we applied Seam Sealer to all the threaded Seams and treated the whole tent with ScotchGuard Waterproof Spray giving extra attention to the Rain Fly. The 1st. 2 nights it Rained all night and we stayed dry as can be.The Rain Fly reaches nearly to the ground which is something I look for in a Tent. We also used a cheap lightweight Tarp for underneath and one inside mainly for dirt. The Tent had great extra room for two people. 3 could use it but it would be tight. Highly recommend this Tent for the Money.

This may be considered a 3-person tent but I think of it more as a roomy, 2-person tent. With 2 Thermarests on the floor, there "might" have been room for a third but really was only enough for our gear. The construction seems durable. It was a breeze to pop-up and take-down was easy since there was plenty of room in the carrying bag. For a couple going car-camping, this unit is perfect.

I wanted some room to be able to spend time in a tent when it rains. While not as roomy as I hoped after setting it up, it ended up being perfect for a solo car camper. A single size air mattress takes up just about 1/2 the tent. Leaving the other half for keeping some items around, room to change clothes, etc.

I say it ended up being "perfect" because much bigger and it would have been hard too setup by one person. The fabric feels just right, not too thick, not too thin. The zippers worked about as expected on a tent. You have to fiddle a bit at times, but they held up well to my yanking and pulling. I like the dual doors and the screen 'windows' on the doors.

It rained one day and as others have said I stayed perfectly dry. Don't think the over hang of the fly is any kind of vestibule. It's just enough to keep rain out of an open door.

Like most tents you subtract one person from the size . . . this is a roomy tent for one, a good fit for two for sleeping. Two single size air mattresses would be a tight fit in this tent to give some idea of the practical size.

I could go on and on but for the money this was a great purchase and I have zero regrets about buying it. I have no feeling like I should have spent more money on a tent, or should upgrade for my next trip, etc.

I'm not going to take a star off for this since it's not the fault of the tent, but it seems like I got a 'used' tent but it was like brand new. The only way I knew it was used was because A) the box was open and B) some of items had dirt (like the kind of dirt you find in dusty campgrounds) on them.

Note that I intend to edit this as I go.

I purchased this for our little family of four (boys are 4 and 2) and to get started I opted to put it together in the living room so my older boy could get used to it. I can say that I've put up my share of tents and I haven't had an easier time figuring this one out (granted, I'll admit I'm not one to read instructions unless I have to). The hooks are solid and hold tight to the poles and the tent (better, I think, than the typical sleeves for poles). It went up fast and is solid with just the two poles, though there is a third for the flap (the instructions on the tent bag indicate this - yeah, look at me! I read the instructions a bit).

The two exit flaps are pretty cool - I look forward to this when we have a few guys packed into this thing down the road.

Overall, the tent seems very sturdy, and it comes with individual, sturdy bags for the poles, the spikes, and the tent itself. More after this weekend, which will be our first family camping outing of the summer.
