You can't get a tent with multiple rooms (great for famiy camping) for less than $350.00, so this tent is a score. I looked at other multi-room tents and they looked like they were made to serve as basecamp tents for Everest! Since when did a family of 5 need a tent like that to go car camping in a state park? This is the perfect balance of price and quality. The tent was not super hard to out up, but not super easy. I think any 6 or 7 person tent is a little more tricky to get up the first time or two...this one is about like the rest. The tent body is very good quality and seems to be very durable. The fly worked GREAT...we had some pretty steady rain all night one night and no one got wet. Good ventilation which reduced condesation.Bottom-line: If you are looking to do multi-day car camping with you family and you have other things in life to spend as mush as $400.00 on, THIS TENT IS FOR YOU! If you want to take a group of five up Mt. Everest....maybe there are more appropriate tents out there...but get your check books out!

Waterlogged,

I bought this tent on sale at REI outlet for a week long trip next week on the Cape. Knowing it will likely rain I needed a tent that would hold up well. I set it up in my backyard yesterday and seam sealed along the floor and at the apex 9I ran out after 2 tubes...). It started POURING 3 hours ago and I went into the tent to check it out and it was POURING in the tent THROUGH the zippers on both side rooms. Needless to say you can't seam seal the actual zipper if you want it to open! So this would be a great tent if you live in a dry area - but not so much if you live where it rains...

We purchased this tent recently and its a great deal. Honestly, REI sells this tent and they have high standards for quality. It comes with a lifetime warrenty. I purchased this product because i know that Alps Mountaineering makes great affordable stuff that is made to standup to the elements. I have a 3 person dome tent by them as well that my husband and i have used in many rainy and windy conditions. We were always dry and comfy. We have not used this tent in wet conditions yet but i am not worried. We puchased it so that we could have seperation between us and our toddler. The room divider works like it suppose to- makes it so you cant see what is going on in the other room. Novelty! Dont expect a door to seperate the rooms- its a tent and not an RV. It took us less then 3 minutes to set up this tent and the fact that its self standing makes it so easy to set up in any area. Looking forward to many years in this tent :)

Good value for money - spacious!,
This review is from: ALPS Mountaineering Osage 3 Room Tent (Sports)
We were going car camping and wanted something that could easily fit an air mattress and have room for the dog bed. We felt ridiculously luxurious after everything was set up (which was pretty easy - two person job, though, since all the poles are super long) because it is HUGE in there. We're so used to a small 1.5 person tent. This tent was less expensive than the smaller one that we have, so I am amazed that it even remained intact and felt decently made! We fit a full-sized air mattress, though it probably and easily could have fit queen. The zippers got caught semi-frequently when opening the door flap and the tent did not come with a footprint. We also stayed in an area where it was relatively warm (49F) and very dry. My partner has a feeling the tent might leak if it were rainy because of the way the seams were placed. Really great value for the money. We're only planning on using it here and there, so we were quite pleased with the way its trial run experience went!

I have been asked to review the ALPS Mountaineering Osage 3 room tent, but I am unable to do so as the tent was shipped directly to Haiti, and hopefully to a family who will be able to have life alittle better in trying to cope with the incredible hardships in the area. Please use this review in a positive way for your own personal use or as a way to help people in situtations that call for some kind of temporary living space. My hope is that the tent will hold up in wet and windy weather, which is expected in the upcoming months in Haiti. The tent looks very durable and being three rooms, more comfortable than a smaller one.Thank you amason.com for shipping this product in a quick direct manner... Sincerely, JE

not worth the money,
This review is from: ALPS Mountaineering Osage 3 Room Tent (Sports)
This tent was very hard to set up, not to mention cheaply made. the only place you can stand straight up, if you are tall, is in the very center of the tent. the rainfly would probably not do a whole lot if it were to rain. sad i purchased it.
