"ALS for the BLS Provider" is an excellent reference guide for any BLS emergency provider such as an EMT-B or FF/EMT. The book breaks down every type of call and provides you with an introduction, what you can do within your BLS skill set. After that, the guide shows you what an ALS provider will do and how you can assist them. This works great if you handle primarily BLS calls and are not sure if a) ALS interventions are needed or b) what you can do to assist the paramedic when they arrive.
