Watch out Canon 580 EX 2,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ALZO ETTL + Wireless Dual Hot Shoe Cord - Canon - Works with Canon 450D 1000D 400D 350D 300D XTi XT XSi XS T1i etc. - by alzodigital.com (Electronics)
So far i can only use the dual cord with my canon 550 Ex with my Wireless Trigger. The canon 580 EX 2 will not fit corretly to the shoe...2 connector pin is not going all the way because of the dual shoe ahve shorter stop preventing the 580 connector to properly engage. When this happen... you flashes/strobe will keep firing. So, i'm still happy because it work on my old 550 Ex and i can still use the 580 ex 2 for my reciever. Also, i bought this for my strobe anyway. It also work. Send my finding to Alzo and was told they will look at it...engineering dept for maybe upgrade.

When I first ordered this item, it had a different item featured. The older product was a y-cord with which you could place two flashes with your umbrella on your Alzodigital Flip-Flash-Bracket, whereas the new item featured now is a cord allows for only one flash and an addition hot-shoe mounted on top of the camera-attaching end, on which you could also attach a secondary flash or a wireless transmitter. My version of this item can also be used with one flash and a wireless transmitter.I've only had a chance to use this once, since I had to send this item back and get the previously advertised item. Once I received the item I really ordered, I noticed it was made of high-quality materials and construction as was the current advertised item. At first my heart sank when I received a different item, but dealing with AlzoDigital by phone was a most pleasant and painless experience. AlzoDigital more than made up for the situation and they have earned their reputation for being customer-first oriented. They saw my frustration and did their best to get me the item I had actually ordered. For that extra effort I thank them. The fault was with Amazon for not changing their product pictures to reflect the new item, but that was quickly remedied, and the item you see now IS the item you will receive. As I stated, I used this once so far. What I will admit is that with two flashes and one umbrella on your flip-flash-bracket. There is a height limit on it due to weight. So if you use two flashes, I recommend you lower your flash-height or else your camera will tend to want to force your lens down. It works fantastic, however, when used on a tripod. A tripod keeps the longer lenses (100-150mm) from causing too much camera-shake. Still, using this with a 50-80mm lens with your set-up will yield you best results. Overall, I am very pleased with the product I ordered, it attaches well and firmly, and is made of durable construction sure to last a long time. If you're looking to add to your camera-gear, or just add onto your AlzoDigital Flip-Frame, this item is worth getting.
