It works well,
This review is from: ALZO Wireless Radio Shutter Release 300 ft range for Nikon Fuji SLR - incl. D700, D300, D200, D3, D2, D2H, D2Hs, D2X, D1, D1h, D1x & Fuji S3, S5, UVIR - by alzodigital.com (Electronics)
Wireless triggers can easily run well over $200. I've gone cheap a few times in the past and get burned about half the time. So I flipped a coin again and picked up this unit. And to be honest, it's made me very happy.
Simply put, it works. The unit has a good feel, the dip switches are easy enough to access and inset enough to not get bumped accidentally. The button requires enough pressure to avoid any accidental clicks. My only complaint is the receiver's auto-shutoff time. Sit idle long enough and it goes to sleep. The problem is that the exact amount of time seems to vary a bit. I've had nights when it went to sleep in less than 60 seconds, and other times when it seems to sit waiting and ready for nearly 20 minutes. But other than that, this is definitely worth the money.

Right up front: This item arrived (on time) in a cheap Chinese laden flimsy box, something you would expect to find fireworks in. It arrived with a battery; however this battery had "NG" marked on it with a black sharpy and they were right, it was "No Good." I had to go out and buy a battery, CR2. Its construction is of thin plastic and resembles the workmanship of a Child's toy rather than photographic equipment. That said, it now works fine on my Nikon D700 with 105 mm 2.8 VR lens. It auto focuses and fires without any issues. I just get the impression it is quickly put together in a Hong Kong sweat house and its reliability may not be for any extended time. We shall see. So Far, so good. Cpt. Jarvis

I use a Fuji S3 and a Fuji S3 UV/IR. This remote release works will with both.
I occasionally shoot weddings and will mount a camera high in the church to take natural light wide angle photos from above. Since I am usually on ground level, I cannot be in both places at once. This release does the job. No higher compliment can be given - it works.

Works as advertise. I have a Nikon D200 that I will use the shutter release on. I tested all of the features and the range and it worked perfectly. This is a bargain.

The product works as described. It would be nice if the buttons were of higher quality with some dust and moisture sealing, and the feel of them and the case is certainly cheap. Would also be nice if the pull out antennae of the transmitter was fully recessed so as not get caught on things. Also opening the battery tray of the receiver requires a screw driver when intended for a finger because the design has an attachment right where the finger needs to go. I also wish the use for bulb or other functions were a separate button or switch instead of the timed and sequence of the same button as that is hard to remember each time I need that to use that function. The fit of the cable connection to the camera is good (Nikon D700) and the product works as described quite well. No issues with operation, just wish the feel and use of the product were higher quality and also the product was smaller. But works fine.

This is not the junk that some others would suggest. Who cares what the shipping box looks like. It had adequate protection. I installed a battery in the receiver and it was working immediately. If there are other wireless shutter releases in the area, you'll have to switch the dip switches on both units to another setting (same on each). With the antenna fully retracted, I could get it to work fine from a distance of 30 feet.
Turn on the receiver when you want to use it by pressing the gray button. Press it again to power down the receiver. The transmitter comes on when you press the button. Press the transmitter button down half way (as you would the shutter release on the camera) and it will focus and set the exposure -- as expected. Press it all the way down and it will take the shot. For night shots, hold the transmitter button for at least 3 seconds and the camera will go into "bulb" mode with the shutter staying open. Press it again to close the shutter. I did not experience the transmitter shutting down after a minute. Maybe they fixed that problem. These units aren't chrome plated or rubber-over-magnesium, but they do NOT look like Chinese toys. A real bargain!

This works well and is a great help getting rid of artifacts from pressing the camera button when using long exposures. It is also great for sitting in a chair and enjoying the sunset while photographing it. Another good trick, if you ever need to trigger two cameras at exactly the same time (as I do for research) at different angles, buy two of these puppies and put one receiver on each camera. They can both be activated by the same transmitter unit. This is a good cost effective unit. The only drawback is that it is easy to forget you have turned the receiver on. It takes about 24 hours to drain the battery completely and WOW is that battery expensive! I paid about $10 to replace it.

I've used it for one photoshoot so far and already have to change the battery in the remote unit (one battery for remote unit and one for camera unit). It feels a bit toyish in my hand but when the battery works, it does its job, so I can't complain much.

I had purchased a different type of wireless release and was lucky enough to be able to return it. It was terrible. That made me a little leery of this one, but I decided to give it a try. I'm not sorry at all, it's just what I was looking for. I haven't had the chance to use it a lot, but so far it does everything just the way it's advertised. I use it on a Nikon D-200 and haven't had any trouble so far. It fits well enough that most the time I don't even screw in the connector. It seems to be well made.

Arrived promptly and as advertised.
It's a little difficult to get a single shot if my camera is set to high speed cont. drive, half click and full click settings work well. Great product at a great price. |
